My 13 year old daughter is trying to raise some funds to pay for own ice skating birthday party and Etsy banned our attempts to setup a store (even with my wife’s credentials - don’t get it) so we posted on TradeMe. But seems TradeMe isn’t the easiest to sell #handmade#crafts and #crochet as she’s had zero views.
Exactly a year after learning to crochet, my first major freeform piece - a Halloween jumper! Freeform has no pattern, fabric is made up of small random or figurative 'scrumbles' and joining them together. About £90 of yarn in it - wool, premium acrylic/cotton, recycled sari silk, chenille, felt bobbles and beads. I'm fascinated by eyes. My OH says it's 'the product of a disturbed mind'.
Good News! The Artisans Cooperative had its soft opening yesterday. I have around half-ish my stuff onboarded at this point, and will continue adding new things as time permits.
Artisans Cooperative is an Etsy alternative that only allows hand crafted items, nothing mass produced. Member artists get profit sharing from the org.

Hey folks, I freshly migrated from the dead bird site, here's my #introduction!
I'm Pia, living in central Finland. I'm a software developer as a day job. On my free time I love to #travel and I'm an avid #videogame lover, also interested in all #retro and #retrogaming and #arcade topics as well.
In addition to gaming, I do #crafts, especially stuff out of felt. Other noteworthy things are being part of the #lgbtq family, #positive thinker and having a #curious and open mind about virtually anything.
Last two books for my Bookmaking Class at Lillstreet! First one is a French chain long stitch book. I LOVE the cover and the pattern on spine but had some trouble with the paper.
Hi I’m Napalousa,
I a Scot living in America. I love to cook for my family, garden, listen to music, doodle, play guitar. I write all kinds of stuff, including ‘A Gentleman in Hell’ a novel about the life of Doc Holliday. I love reading weird and wonderful stories and enjoy dipping into history and folklore especially stuff with ghosties, and monsters.
I love nature, trees, animals of all kinds, especially horses, dogs and cats.
I also like making crafty stuff and make candles, do visible mending and I’m a beginner knitter (fingers crossed but not literally).

My wife, Sarah, is an absolute star at making things. She made the hand-stitched booklets for my upcoming limited release, but she's always got something on the go - whether it's making bags and stuff for her Etsy shop, knitting or crocheting toys for the children of family and friends, knocking up wonderful hand-knitted socks and other wearables - or recently things like this. Making little toys from recycling things we have lying around.
I thought Crafting Mastodon might like to take a look and perhaps say Hi on her YouTube channel.
Today it is a butterfly stitch book. It is a bit loose and rests open pretty easily. Similar to a Coptic stich but a bit easier on the hands...and I love the interwoven threads 🤗
Second week of class at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago - next week is learning Longstitch Books!
I've been working on some graphics for new shadow box manifesting sets, in the theme of love, of course, since valentines day is approaching. Here's what I have so far...
These graphics will be printed on paperboard and glued into the shadow box, similar to the Fortune test design. These will also come with a plaster LOVERS tarot.
Finally, I just wanted to thank you for reading this thread - I've enjoyed learning bookbinding and have enjoyed sharing my projects here on Mastodon with you. I've really appreciated all the encouragement!
Here are a few more projects I've done over the past few months:
