Ya know, Peggy from Twitter. Artist, writer, musician, was in an anthology on the NYT Bestseller list. Should really find the time to get back to making my comic at some point….

We absolutely had to make an appointment today, but then as long as we were out, we stopped by Ross & got some new bedding then stopped by Costco to grab a few things (sadly they were out of pie) and now we're getting McDonald's then heading home. Hopefully the rivers aren't flooded or this will be a very long drive. Fortunately, we have bedding in the car now, if we have to spend the night somewhere.
The CDC put the final nail in the coffin of COVID safety.
Out and about on errands today. Intermittent downpours made for interesting driving. Hopefully none of the roads back will be flooded on the way home.
I guess March 1st is the day to get rid of your holiday decor
Just found out about a really neat and very efficient radiant heater that’s actually been around for ages around the world.
Today I finished a year-long project 🍾🎉 of painting a 1 inch (2.5cm) square for almost every day of the past year. As a novice watercolorist it was a good challenge and I’m glad I did it.
The main subject was the slice of Pacific Ocean and sky I can see from our house. If I traveled or had something otherwise interesting to me I painted something about that.
Things I learned:
- Simplify! A very small canvas means pare down the details.
- Clouds and waves are hard.
- Arthritic fingers don’t like tiny areas to paint.
I used 6x9inch 140lb cold press paper.
Watercolor-painted days of the months of September 2023 through February 2024. Mostly scenes of the sea and sky in all their many possible colors, with and without waves. The month of November is mostly sunsets, including a week’s worth painted as one image. There are scenes from a New England trip in September, atmospheric rivers raining on us in December through February, and many blue sky days.
you cannot laissez-faire public health.
you cannot let vaccinations up to the market.
you, as a government, need to make available all vaccinations to all. no means testing. no insurance coverage.
it would mean, you believe health care is a human right. that medical care should be readily available to all. that health is not a matter of accounting. that eugenics have no place in public policy. that the health of all comes before the profit of the few.
make all vaccines free.

I finally got rid of that chill! It only took my makeshift electric-oil-heater-with-a-pillow-on-it-and-a-blanket-over-it kotatsu and a heating pad about 3 hours to do it.
I swear. If I’m not dying of heat from hot flashes, I’m freezing from Raynaud’s.
Today’s house I cleaned had a painting of images in watercolors of trees, branches, and color studies, that the guest had left on the bottom fridge door. It was so pretty I put it in a place of honor on the fridge , up high and with 3 pretty magnets holding it up. I hope the next guests like it.😊
Busy trying to prevent a negative serotonin syndrome outcome while on call but yea lets keep disabling each other with a brain injuring virus so I can have even more on my plate while my colleagues are forced to medically retire.
A cold snap this week meant I could try out my new sweater vest today. Like a wearable version of a warm hug! The only caveat is that Plotulopi is rough to me, so it was good to wear it over something. #knitting
It’s cold! Yesterday was so mild, but today I’m shivering!
Say what you will about generative AI, it's certainly crammed all of my timelines with creepy fake-looking images that my friends keep posting as "Amazing!!" -- even friends who are art aficionados and I thought would know better. It's having a strange effect on me, which is a growing distaste and distrust of images themselves, as if the whole visible universe is being covered with some kind of slime.
I'm not ceding the nation to these motherfuckers.
