By sewing the third layer of leaves so that the leaves stand upward a little, I was able to give the pillow some more shape, and it all fits together much more nicely. There are still gaps between the leaves, which I hope won't make the whole pillow too fragile. But the changed geometry definitely reduced the gaps!

Help me identify this thing I own.

I do not know where it came from.

My best guess is that it could be for flattening large eyelets??

Incidentally, if any local bod accidentally left this at mine, you can have it back.

I would give it to charity, but I doubt they'd know what to do with it. It's pretty solid and would be a waste to throw out.

[Edit:] question answered - apparently it is for eyelets.

The two cylinders separated. You can see the bigger cylinder has a cone shape protruding from the top, while the smaller cylinder is hollow and has a slight lip around the edge.

Inner leaves of the succulent pillow - done!
there are two more layers of leaves to sew together, and then add a backing. As I add the layers and it gets more three-dimensional, the work gets more complicated!

Got a tin of chocolates for Xmas. They were delicious. As the old tin I used for some of my knitting notions had finally died, I transferred everything into the new one.
No matter how many times my grandkiddies come, they still have to check in case miraculously the tin contains chocolate again.😅 😜

Having watched Safiya Nygaard tuft a rug, I too want to try it.

There's a place in San Jose that offers rug tufting workshops. They start at $100 though. That's perfectly reasonable for a 4-hour experience, but more than I'm comfortable spending right now.

I definitely need to sort out my yarn.
I have yarn in baskets, in cupboards, and alongside my chair.
The two baskets alongside my chair are my 'working' (...er, um...lol) ones, they're holding the current WIPs that I pick up regularly.
The cupboards hold my main stash and patterns, needles, etc...
Then there are the hand-dyed yarn clubs I belong to that mean I get more each month.

Of course - collecting yarn and using yarn are two different hobbies 😂 😅 😜

I loved this one so much, and was sad to see it go.

I'm headed out in about an hour, to try and photograph the real one!

🧶 It's done! Yarn re-skeined on swift from ball I wound months ago, washed in Eucalan, dried thoroughly (it fluffed up, so nice!), re-wound just now into a ball.

Guess I still have to swatch? Do I? Hmmm...

@Knitting

Same yarn, re-skeined, ball started with figure 8 blob
Skein washed, so nice and fluffy and soft! The white yarn (used to tie) opened up quite a bit too.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is quilt week here at my art business, this is the latest one my mom e-mailed me photos of last week, really vibrant and colorful, this one is titled 'Caribbean Waters' and is made with batik fabrics from Indonesia, it measures 54 x 54 in (137 x 137 cm), this one is available, lots of great energy in this one; if anyone is interested, please let me know! ~

Frogging (tinking) it!
Got side track when I started these socks. Made up the pattern as I went but didn't bother writing it down.
Picked it up again a few months later and a) can't remember what row I'm up to, b) what the hell I did, and c) I no longer like the design...lol.
Normally I scribble something out & leave it with the project, this time I didn't. 😜

@mem_somerville It makes me sad to read that this behaviour exists. Could it be a cultural problem?
I volunteer in a French centre + (early 20th c.) with two international festivals + never ever experienced this. Not only that in France ancient and skills are strongly supported, meanwhile many institutions look for people who can still teach these skills. Our group (the youngest 61) can hardly save itself from requests for presentations in

Hey #crafts (or any other) folks who sell stuff online, in the US: is there a secret way to get better shipping prices, like business pricing or something, or is anything you send out going to cost a minimum of $10-12 to ship?
