Someone of global stature needs to stand up and say that House Republicans under direction from Trump are trying to hand Ukraine to Putin who will help Trump get a 2nd term so Trump can break NATO.
Won't shame Republicans. But needs to be at least clear that this is happening.
But lets throw in Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House. Why did he not report any finances? No bank accounts on file. None, not even a checking account. His financial situation is a black hole. How does someone get security clearance like that?
«Many people I respect continue to hold versions of this view. But the more I read & listened, the clearer it became: #Section3 was directed against precisely the conduct #Trump engaged in. Its purpose is to protect the republic from those who would shred the #Constitution & destroy our system of self-government. What Trump did in advance of the attack on the #Capitol & on #Jan6, 2021, legally disqualifies him from the presidency»
AP and the #WashingtonPost haven’t completely ignored the story—although the #NYTimes, as of this writing, has more or less looked the other way. But as the right celebrates Greg Abbott’s defiance and legal scholars worry about a constitutional crisis, the two big papers and the major wire service have clearly underplayed the standoff’s significance.
The NY Times has now been refusing to cover the neo-secessionist uprising in Texas, until their editorial direction is approved by the Christian nationalists who dictate which events get live coverage.
I really don't understand this #WashingtonPost coverage. Who is the #President? Why isn't #Biden's current policy plan on the border getting the main headline and #Trump's anticipatory policy (with a photograph fro 2019 no less) is?
Excellent piece by #WashingtonPost on an underreported but strategic policy.
It is simply wrong for the Israeli gov to create a "buffer zone" inside #Gaza . Even the East German gov built the hated "Berlin Wall" and kill zone on their side of the line. If Netanyahu wants the same, clear their side of the border.
What to know about Israel’s controversial ‘buffer zone’ in Gaza
"After quizzing these companies about data practices, I learned that most are sharing what’s happening in my home with Amazon, too. Our data is the price of entry for devices that want to integrate with Alexa. Amazon’s not only eavesdropping — it’s tracking everything happening in your home."
#GeoffreyAFowler, 'Alexa has been eavesdropping on you this whole time'
It could be but we can't know for sure. It appears that the #WashingtonPost, rather dubiously, blocks the #InternetArchive, so we are not able to read the article to assess it. The W'Post may be only publishing the bare minimum so as to not appear to be suppressing it. They could be whiteWashing, or doing a #limitedHangout.
See how the WashingtonPost treats the InternetArchive, a typical #Akamai-style ban!
The block against Archive.org appears to be a more recent thing. I'm guessing it's part of the anti-scraping battle that copyright holders have launched against #MOLE trainers.
Has Trump ever ruled out violence when questioned? "Mr Trump, you just lost this game of Candyland, and I can see you're very upset. Will you tell your supporters not to engage in violence?" Yeah, no. Sometimes there is value in asking a question you already know the answer to, but other times it's just click bait. #trump#washingtonpost#Uspolitics
Three years ago today the US Capitol was attacked by rioters incited by Donald #Trump to overthrow the government. Hours later 68% of House republicans voted to finish the job and make trump a dictator. Here are their names.
"The right wouldn’t be nearly as successful at [its war on higher education] without hefty assistance from a mainstream media all too willing to launder their bad-faith claims. As Georgetown political science professor Don Moynihan noted, the New York Times ran 13 stories about Gay in 10 days."
"The Washington Post will continue to treat cynical attacks on female college presidents as a both-sides free speech debate. CNN’s Jake Tapper will continue to frame Gay’s alleged plagiarism as a real issue rather than a trumped-up way to force her out."
The reason you know Joe Biden isn’t an authoritarian is because you can say “Joe Biden is an authoritarian” (clearly incorrectly) and nothing will happen to you.
Anyone else thinking of unsubscribing to the #WashingtonPost after today's opinion piece by #GeorgeWill ( I won't use a gift article for this poison) titled "A Constitution-flouting ‘authoritarian’ is already in the White House"? Yes, that's right. He is equating #Biden with #Trump. So many #media outlets, as @donmoyn and @jayrosen_nyu so brilliantly explain, are failing us.
