I'm gonna just say it (and from the perspective of a former trial lawyer with 37 years' experience): the posse of GOP slanderers Trump's bringing with him daily, and Trump's defense's failure to finish cross-examination of Michael Cohen today, are partly because they're hoping some idiot will kill Cohen before he's left the stand (because under the Sixth Amendment, no jury is allowed to rely on his testimony until his cross is complete).

Yes, I believe they're that evil. Stochastic terrorism is a tool, not an accident.

#Biden's revenue proposal for 2025 is actually fantastic for those of us who want the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes.

It raises the top tax brackets, yes, but importantly, it also ends the step-up in basis tax loophole that allows the wealthy to never pay any capital gains. Instead, their gains will be realized on death.

@msbellows This is actually a great example of when ChatGPT can be useful. I asked it and it mentioned these examples:

During Trump vs Hillary, some people called for Trump to suspend his campaign when Hillary was sick. He did not.

During Obama vs McCain, they agreed to suspend their campaigns during the financial crisis.

However it was unable to find an example of both candidates suspending their campaigns due to illness.
