The North Carolina Senate voted along party lines Wednesday to
💥ban anyone from wearing masks in public for health reasons, 💥following an emotional debate about the wisdom of the proposal.

Republican supporters of the ban said it would help police crack down on protesters who wear masks
— which some lawmakers called a growing concern, saying demonstrators are abusing Covid-19 pandemic-era norms to wear masks that hide their identities.

“It’s about time that the craziness is at least slowed down, if not literally stopped,” said bill sponsor Buck Newton, R-Wilson.

The proposal faced strong opposition from Democratic lawmakers, community activists, and advocates for people with health issues

Had an extra day off today, so I made some calls to find a new doctor and to deal with some bureaucratic things. 2 1/2 hrs later and I’ve made almost no progress.
Also, since when did medical services have a separate office “For Her” for gynecological services??? I thought I was a whole human. Not a person with some human parts and some, “For Her”.
I note, they don’t have separate offices “For Him”, because apparently all of a male body is considered to be normal human parts.

And what if I have something wrong that affects my whole body, reproductive parts and all? Which office do I go to? Will the doctor be competent to know how it affects all of me? JFC, the casual misogyny in medical care is infuriating.🤬🤬🤬

@WhiteCatTamer Yes, it’s literally called that! It’s wrong in so many ways! Like, if you’re losing weight & feeling tired & you go to your general Dr instead of “For Her” (Ugh!) but you feel that way because you have ovarian cancer, would the general Dr even know what to look for? Would they know to look for bone loss from too many pregnancies? Endometriosis causing digestive issues? Not to mention the dysphoria & misdiagnosis trans men would experience with these same issues under this set up!

@merileedkarr @Catawu What I want is a general practitioner who also is knowledgeable about the female reproductive system, because that ought to be part of a general practitioner's knowledge, just like the male reproductive system is. I don't think it's too much to expect. But, of course, misogyny.

Put in more Elysium around the strawberries and put in 2 more squash plants. I also transplanted the lavender. The neighbor said I should put up an electric wire around the fence that makes a sound that scares the bears & mountain lions away, so that's a thing.
Apparently the bear is a destroyer of veggie gardens, is a notorious garbage can thief & twins every year and has been around for at least 10 yrs... 🐻
The mountain lion is supposed to be huge🦁
