@GottaLaff I've felt for years that these so called "debates" are spectacles with no real value to the electorate. There have not been real debates for decades.
I was against Biden appearing in this kind of fiasco, but realize that he was under great pressure to do so. Trump will attempt to humiliate Biden, but Biden is by far the better man and he has the upper hand.
It's still possible that Trump will find an excuse to back out.
Y'all want to hear a fact that really changed the way I thought about homelessness?
Half of all homeless people were in the foster system at some point. Social Workers often call the foster system The Highway to Homelessness. If you ever had a point in your life where you had to live with friends or family to for a short time to get back on your feet, remember that is a privilege that not everyone had.
I don't know if our society works at all without stigmatizing homelessness, similar to the way capitalism doesn't work without some boot on someone's neck, somewhere.

Society is working as intended I'm afraid.
It (society), will tolerate whatever we allow. If some group of 100 people have more numbers on their computers than we do and we give that meaning... it has meaning. I'm not being silly, I'm being earnest. We need to allow the truth to happen.
The truth is, they (the 100) are okay with our deaths and destruction and we are okay with letting them make those decisions. If we, as a global group, decide we are not willing to tolerate it anymore - we won't.
It's why they are buying their islands and isolationist tools. They are trying to outrun the checks and balances of society. People tend to back away when I say things like this because I sound a touch aggro. I get it, I don't like how things look either.

I came across someone saying they were proud of all the protesting they did when they were younger and that’s fine.
Anyway, one of the things they listed was being proud of stopping America from going into nuclear power and let me just share that this attitude and movement set us back pretty far on clean power and it’s good to look into why. 1/2

Had you read the first toot and taken time to comprehend it, it was in regard to another account spreading disinformation about atomic power, and actually talking points FROM the fossil fuel industry and I provided a link with its own references. Disinformation about it is harmful like every other kind of disinformation. It’s not inherently dangerous or bad.
Everything requires materials and risk. It’s not normal to be for some technologies but not others based entirely on the notion that some technologies are “natural” (an argument people regularly make about wind and solar) while others are not (nuclear fission.)

I don’t know much about digiKam, but looking at it got me interested in checking it out! One problem I have with Immich is that there is really good Android integration with its app, but poor Desktop integration (I use a web app).
For Immich, I suppose you could mount an external library and use that same folder for digiKam. Immich will store its own set of files in its data structure for the external library, not the pictures just it’s own metadata as I understand it. Any changes will be reflected in Immich after a library scan. (I will be trying this option soon.😁)
You could do the same with Nextcloud by just mounting the Nextcloud drive and setting its photos folder as the folder for digiKam, I suppose. You would be losing out mainly on Android integration with the Immich app. I can’t whatever the opposite of recommend the Nextcloud options enough.
