Media coverage of Republicans stampeding to NYC to attack Trump's trial as illegit is marred by euphemism. This isn't just "currying favor" w Trump or "expressing loyalty" or auditioning to be his VP. It's placing Trump over rule of law
Rs are attacking judge, witnesses, prosecutors & trial as illegitimate. This isn't just helping Trump evade the gag order. The point is also to display in spectacle form that their fealty is to him over the rules that make the system function
@GottaLaff. Thank you for posting this must-read article by #GregSargent. I always thought his pieces for the #WashingtonPost were standouts. His incisive coverage has, by and large, been replaced by journalistic gruel.

I joined the Biden Administration because I believe in fighting for a better America, for a future where Americans can thrive: one with economic prosperity, a healthy planet, and equal rights for all people. I have dedicated my career to candidates who I believed would further this vision.
The #WashingtonPost had her resignation on the front page, plenty of coverage in the international press, but the #NewYorkTimes does not appear to have covered it at all.

That appears to be a reference to #HopeHicks, who is expected to begin her testimony today.

@jeffjarvis. "As expected, she voted to eliminate the constitutional right to abortion."
Thank you for gifting this article. It's columns like this that led me to cancel my #WashingtonPost subscription.
I teach my students the importance of anticipating the counter-argument. In this case, there is no argument after this counter-argument because women are dying because of this vote to take away the right to an #abortion.
Note: there is a minority movement in chiropractic that rejects the original, magic-energy-flows-through-the-spine version of that practice.
The article contains amazingly false balance, as you'd expect from non-science journalists covering science. They can't tell the experts from the quacks. #WashingtonPost#WaPo
For examples of how #USPol political #journalism sees its main purpose as predicting outcomes, look no further than how major media cover #SupremeCourt arguments. Better journalism would focus and highlight what was argued and the context -- explaining, not predicting, would be the primary aim. #NewYorkTimes#WashingtonPost yes that's you.
@dkiesow. On mornings like this and with headlines like this, I'm glad I canceled my #WashingtonPost subscription. It's coverage like this that lays the foundation for #disinformation, which MAGA outlets then blast to the base.
The New York Times chose to give space for this Putin puppet and authoritarian to voice is noxious propaganda without the--if I may use the word in its proper context--balance of actual reporting. For shame.
@CartyBoston@jeffjarvis. I had this experience with the #WashingtonPost, getting increasingly annoyed and yet unable to cut the cord. #GeorgeWill helped push me over the edge. I still do miss some of their coverage (their articles on assisted living, for example, were very informative) but all in all, I'm not looking back. You'll know when you've had enough!

excellent, concise piece that not only explains the seriousness of the #election interference case (aka the hush money case, which is more salacious-sounding and therefore used more often) but the incorrect arguments, offered by some #lawyers and #media (this coverage contributed to my dropping the #WashingtonPost, I believe it was a #RuthMarcus piece poo-pooing the case) about the seriousness of the case (buttressed of course by calling it the hush money case).
