"According to the sources, the college decided not to announce that it would divest from arms companies after an activist defaced a 1914 portrait of Lord Arthur Balfour - who authored the infamous Balfour Declaration"

As the US warns of a potential power vacuum in Gaza, James O'Brien questions Benjamin Netanyahu's strategy amid escalating conflict between Hamas and the IDF.
Thousands of Israelis joined protests over the weekend calling for a deal to bring home hostages still held in Gaza by Hamas and the resignation of Netanyahu.
However, James argues that Netanyahu is 'not committed' to these demands and has a different motive entirely.
What is important here is that even though those doing the destruction are civilians, this is happening because the Israeli government and military are letting it happen. Israel has, of course, more than enough resources to make sure aid convoys are protected and make their way into Gaza safely. But instead, Israel seeks to collectively punish Palestinians and Gaza and use hunger as a weapon of war.
As people of faith we believe in a better way. It is not too late for you to change course and rid yourself of deadly investments in companies profiting from the Israeli occupation. Join your courageous students and divest now.

Resistance returns to the north, UNRWA says 300,000 people fled Rafah

The exodus of Palestinians from Gaza’s last refuge accelerated Sunday as Israeli forces pushed deeper into the southern city of Rafah.
Israel also pounded the territory’s devastated north, where some Hamas militants have regrouped in areas the military said it had cleared months ago.
UN human rights chief Volker Turk said in a statement that he cannot see how a full-scale invasion of Rafah can be reconciled with international humanitarian law.
The Israeli army has intensified its renewed assault on Jabalia refugee camp and the Zeitoun area in northern Gaza as resistance factions regroup there, months after the Israeli army said it had "defeated Hamas" in the north.
