For Bourque Bearskin and Dick, the work they’ve been doing over the last few years, including the development of the #MastersProgram, is better aligning #healthcare with the principles of #UNDRIP.
She's the prom king, queen and everything in between: Meet the only #HighSchoolGrad in #KingsCove this year.
Despite her being the only #graduate, Maggie's ceremony will be much like any other. There will be a #graduation gown, speeches, toasts, a few dances, food and a decorated hall.
"Everybody gets a big ceremony. So just because she's in a class by herself doesn't mean she doesn't deserve to celebrate the 13 years that she's gone through school."
#Students in the US are not just setting up #encampments to show solidarity with the #Palestinians but using their #graduation ceremonies to highlight the plight of the people of Palestine.
I am honored to be presenting my work on #FindingtheRightWords in UCLA's Americanist Research Colloquium. I wrote this #memoir w/#neurologist Dr. Bruce Miller about my father's early-onset #Alzheimer's. He became ill when I was a #graduate student in the #Berkeley#English dept. so speaking about this to grad students (& faculty) in the English dept.@ #UCLA is especially meaningful. I'll share what I know now about #dementia & #grief & what I wish I knew then.
Still recovering from the fantastic and fantastically busy Friday, where went to see @adrienne graduate with a degree in Veterinary Sciences from UMass Amherst. Beautiful sunny day, which meant hot in the stands for the 2 ceremonies but it was lovely and tearjerking to see her finally walk that stage. A good dinner and then a long drive back made for a long day.
