Israel just bombed a tent city full of #refugees who fled North #Gaza for #Rafah on the #IDF's orders.
Horrifying photos show families frantically rummaging through the carnage for the limbs of their family members. I won't reproduce them here, but they can be found on the bird site from @gazanotifications
They are murdering poor people trapped in a concentration camp, in the places they were told to flee for safety. They are killing impoverished, innocent, starving Palestinians, mostly under 30, with nowhere else to go.
This brutality is unparalleled in my lifetime. All studies show that Israel is in a class of its own, outdoing the Dresden bombings by a landslide. Saying this is not antisemitic: it is your duty, whoever you are.
I am #Jewish: spiritually, scholarly, and Litvak Ashkenazi. It's not antisemitic for me, OR ANY NON-JEW to say. In fact, its every human's duty to call for this bloodshed to cease IMMEDIATELY, and to even call for this genocidal Zionist occupation to be dismantled before there is any more blood shed. Nothing keeps my heart beating like my Arab and Muslim comrades speaking out against this barabarism every day. All while facing the harshest consequences of anyone! This ugliness would quite literally drive me to kill myself if I didn't know so many people who are so brave.
I have been doing activism in Palestine since 2012, both boots-on-the-ground defense of protestors, and teaching programming. These are not antisemites; my Palestinian friends are as close to me as any others. And I have had 6 students murdered in Gaza in 120 days. All the others are starving, fleeing from tent city to tent city, trying to survive the most hellish circumstances of drone democide any people have ever witnessed in the history of humanity. Thats a simple fact now.
If you are a goy and claim to support this in our name, WE WILL REMEMBER. The vast majority of #Jews outside of Israel who are under 40 years old are anti-Zionists today. All the fastest growing Jewish organizations of the past decade are anti-Zionist. And we will not forget those who cheered on a 21st century #Holocaust while evoking the memory of our family members killed by Nazi #Germany. Especially not the #Germans, who have been by far the worst inciters and supporters of genocide outside of #Israel.
Nimarata is a beautiful name. It's also Nikki Haley's first name.
Every time racist and xenophobic people in her base see that her name is Nimarata, she loses voters. The name has no impact on non-racist/non-xenophobes.
Her performing anti-Blackness and transphobia to try to win the presidential seat, or help Trump get elected and win the Vice Presidential seat, is bad.
Not bringing up the name Nimarata, helps her maintain the white supremacists in her coalition. That is what I don't want.
During the rise of #Nazism in #Germany, until the late nineteen-thirties there was the "Association of German National Jews". This #Jewish group supported the #Nazis in the hope that they would be treated differently by the #Fascists. Of course it didn't work and in the end didn't make any difference to the persecution of those #Jews. GOP supporters like #Nikki#Haley, Blacks for Trump and similar, are making the same foolish (and selfish) mistake.
An open letter from over 1,000 Jewish writers and scholars warning that criticism of Israel is not inherently antisemitic, and arguing that it is produces real harm. It's also fundamentaly at odds with the teachings of Judaism itself
A highway in #SanFrancisco was shut down by SEVERAL thousand protesters marching for a ceasefire, and a lot of major Western media outlets are not telling you about it.
Instead, places like CTV News and CNN are telling you that #MatthewPerry died.
Cool.
This protest brought to you by #Jewish Voice for #Peace, #Arab Resources and Organizing Center, and the #Palestinian Youth Movement... and protestors like you. ❤
"I once found it meaningful when people set aside differences to build bridges towards positive change. It was not always easy to be in these spaces because of political or religious differences, sometimes related to #Israel/#Palestine, and sometimes because I was the only Orthodox #Jewish#woman in the room. But I really believed that the more diverse the coalition, the more likely we could reach success.
These days I’m so sad. Sad for the tremendous losses all around. And on a personal level, I’m also sad that I devoted so many years of my life to groups that don’t seem to care about me or my pain."
Good morning to readers; #Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.
Our colleague Joseph Roche takes us to Uman, a small town in central #Ukraine where #Jewish pilgrims continue to make an annual trek to visit a #Hasidic saint’s tomb, to mark the Jewish New Year.
1000s of Jews are rejecting premise that #Jewish safety comes at expense of #Palestinian liberation.
We are taking to the streets to show our elected officials we will not be silent while they exploit our grief to provide unsanctioned military support for #genocide of Palestinian civilians in Gaza.’

37% of the activists arrested in #Germany on #antisemitism charges in the past 130 days have been #Jewish. #Jews make up less than 1% of the total population of Germany. Think about what that means.
Germans learned nothing beyond how to manufacture and promote a semblance of reconciliation in which Jews are a mere transference object through which Germans may be absolved of the crimes of Nazism and the #Nakba. When we no longer function as objects that Germans can transfer their responsibility for genocide onto — when we no longer serve to act as an insurance policy on their responsibility for crimes of ethnic cleansing, genocide, and the commercial war economy of the imperial core — then suddenly Germans become the victims of antisemitism visited upon the German people by the Jews.
A society where that is even fathomable has not actually repented for the #Holocaust. Which is exactly why Germany is the world's #1 champion of the genocide in #Gaza.
Their official description: "We welcome diversity and are welcome to LGBTQ+ Jews, Queer Jews, Jews of Color, Converts, Disabled Jews, and others from around the world. We are openly welcoming to those who do not identify as Jewish but are either Jewish adjacent or are allies of the Jewish community."
Hanukkah is coming and I took a moment to connect with my Jewish roots by creating those jewellery pieces. They felt so good to make and I can't wait for this holiday. This would make the perfect gift during Hanukkah 💙
Life has had me very busy lately! Finally catching up on all of the gardening and weeding the heat wave kept us from. It's still hot...92 today, but it beats 99!
#German police arrested this #Jewish woman at a pro-Palestine demonstration last night on #antisemitism charges, because apparently #Jews supporting #Palestine are antisemites while the Germans locking up Jewish leftists are the Jews of today 💀
Falsifying the content of old literature is a rotten idea.
If we erase all evidence of past prejudices from the culture, then we are doing something dangerous to ourselves and others: aiding the bigots who want to teach younger generations that systemic prejudice never existed, and that the movements to end those prejudices were lying and were frivolous and dishonest.
Agrarian #Jewish#socialists living in kibbutzim, many of whom for decades lived alongside #Gazans and were among the most active peace activists in #Israel were hit first and hardest on Oct 7th.
I had no idea referring to the tentacles of the Jewish lobby might sound antisemitic! 😆
"The #NewSouthWales premier, Chris Minns, has warned parliamentarians about sowing division in the community after a #Greens MP apologised for referring to the “tentacles” of the “#Jewish lobby” and its influence across Australia.
The Newtown MP Jenny Leong said she did not intend to reference an antisemitic cartoon depicting #Jews as an octopus when she made the comments at the #Palestine Justice Movement forum in #Sydney in December, where the boycott movement against #Israel was being discussed."
