After basically the whole #Microsoft #Azure cloud was hacked (see list of related sources on https://karl-voit.at/cloud/ ), the first follow-up incidents went public caused by missing containment actions:

If you didn't understand until now: basically EVERYTHING at Microsoft got hacked and Microsoft can't (or won't) get rid of the intruders. Everything authenticated by Microsoft is tainted. Even #Windows auth.

I've seen the #Microsoft #OneNote hype and warned the users of long-term lock-in effects. Then OneNote failed and people lost (parts of) their data.

I've seen the #Evernote hype and it happened again.

Now, I see the #Obsidian hype. (At least the file format is an open one.)

Nice feature in Mastodon 4.2.0: you can not only add accounts to an arbitrary number of lists, you can also tell each list that its postings don't appear on your home timeline.

This way you can follow accounts that are, e.g., posting (too) frequently and read their posts occasionally without flooding your home timeline. :mastolove:

Good news and bad news for users if #logseq:

They're working on a DB version in parallel that will provide better scalability, performance and realtime #collaboration (#RTC). They'll charge for RTC.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the end for #orgdown markup as they are implementing #Markdown only now and a conversion feature later on. 😞

Therefore, logseq is not an option for me any more and I'll need to think about a migration strategy for my wife.

I'd love to see a #Mastodon client that has features my #Usenet client had a few decades(!) ago:

• scoring based on regex of sender, keywords, ... + adaptive sorting according to scores
• ignore this subthread (replys)
• remember which message I've already seen(!)
• marking my own messages as seen by default
• ...

It's really astonishing that we are losing so many great features over time over and over again.

A Mastodon-to-NNTP-gateway could solve those issues instantly.

To people using #xfce as their main Linux desktop environment (DE) for a longer period:

I'm using xfce (after running many different WMs + DE) for over 15 years or so and I'm quite happy with it.

It seems to be the case that X.Org enters a phase out phase and multiple Wayland implementations will replace it over time.

xfce might not even be ported fully to Wayland - at least not soon:
