@GottaLaff @DrollTide I think it shows that Chubb is indeed as they claim not concerned about the rights and wrongs of the cases. They will make a ton of money from the well-secured EJC bond, but there’s nothing left to secure the NY fraud bond, so they’ve said no.

@davidallengreen I think too much has been made of the ‘death threat’. “He/she/they should be shot” is a turn of phrase thrown about all the time, and has lost all literal meaning. (We can debate whether that’s a good thing, but that’s a different discussion.) Talk of ‘death threats’ detracts from the very real and heartfelt racism behind the rest of the tirade.

Looks like the Labour Party in power will be testing the proportion that women do capitalism differently.... with a plan for the (state-owned) British Business Bank to back female led business.

Given gender differences in both top management & business ownership, this will likely push the dial more towards equality, but it will be interesting to see if there are other discernible effects.

@ChrisMayLA6 My mostly unevidenced instinct is that possibly women will be less inclined to take wild risks in pursuit of large rewards. This can only be good for economic stability.

(The evidence I have comes from the last Scottish Independence referendum. Women proved to be more cautious over issues such as the ill-defined future of Scottish currency.)

    Breaking: rapist has posted a bond of nearly $92 million in E. Jean Carroll defamation case. The posted bond is exactly $91,630,000.00, which includes a district’s courts common practice of requiring a bond of 110% of the judgement.

    Insurance company Chubb underwrote the $91.63 million bond for Donald Trump, which the former president signed on Tuesday, March 5.
    Under the terms of the bond, Chubb will only secure the appeal of the $83.3 million judgment, not any future appeals.

    Rapist got someone to give him almost exactly that amount. America has no idea who that is or who he is now beholden to, and that is unacceptable as a counterintelligence matter.

    The whole world wants to know where the money to purchase the bond came from.

    And U.S. intelligence needs to know.

    A billionaire shouldn’t need an agency to post his $90M bond. That should be chump change to a billionaire. Where’s Mr. I’m so rich when it comes to paying his bills?

    @skykiss Do I understand from various posts this morning that Bond posters in US don’t actually have to pay money into the court? In this case, that would be a farce! Surely E. Jean Carroll has a right to be certain the money will actually be collectable after appeal.

    @ChrisMayLA6 The £3.1B estimate of taxes raised is optimistic bullshit. Most of the newly taxable ‘income’ will mysteriously evaporate, I suspect. But Hunt has cleverly spiked Labour plans by removing a key pillar of their ideas for how to balance the books. Which made it well worthwhile for the Tories.
