I'm sick of justifying ethical behavior in terms of profit. We use phrases like "adding alt-text brings more customers to your site" or "protected bike lanes increase revenue for local businesses."

You should add alt-text descriptions to images because it helps people.

We need to build bike lanes because it makes cities safer and more accessible.

Reduce carbon emissions because it's the right thing to do! Discussing these things in purely economic terms misses the point.

There are folks on the right who figured out they could weaponize Facebook community standards bot to get progressives removed for 30 day stretches. “Seditious fuck(Donnie) deserves a bullet in the head.” That’ll get you locked out. “The halls of the Capitol should have been painted red with blood of its occupants.” Facebook was cool with that one. I reported that twice. No, that’s fine. Tell me what the difference is.

There's an interesting thing I notice. A lot of times I see post on fedi that say "I'm not antisemitic a lot of Jews agree with me" or similar.

Here's the thing though, if you need to invoke the jews because you think you sound antisemitic the intent behind whatever you're saying is probably coming from a different place than your tokenized Jews. And you are antisemitic.

Even if we agree.

@Impossible_PhD my thing is I have always identified as bisexual, a persons sex was less important, to me, than the type of person they were. It has just been recently that it occurred to me that identity is also about how one wants society to see them in addition to how one sees themselves; and I have always identified with women, though never considered that I identify as a woman.

    @GottaLaff so far, the only ones verifiably that stupid is the Alabama Supreme Court. I think there needs to be an investigation into those justices. Obviously they cheated their way to an education. There is no way someone can work through primary, secondary, collegiate university and law school and come out the other side this freakin ignorant.
