Mars helicopter Ingenuity completed Flight 71 on Jan 6.
But Ingenuity made an emergency and safe landing 35 seconds into the planned 125 second flight.
NASA states that "the relatively featureless terrain it flew over (sand ripples with few or no rocks) proved to be a challenge for its navigation system."
This sounds different than the emergency landing during flight 53 on July 22, 2023, when the ‘LAND_NOW’ software was triggered by a loss of image frames.
I have very irregularly sampled temporal data (hint: think Enceladus' plume). The usual least-squares-fitting & spectral analysis methods are giving my collaborators & me grief.
Wondering: Are there yet available any such data-analysis algorithms based on AI?
