Did you know that there is a 1:1 scale replica of the world-famous #Shibuya Scramble intersection that can be rented by TV and film productions located 80 km northwest of Tokyo in the city of #Ashikaga? The real intersection is so busy that nobody can close it down for controlled filming.
This set was notably used in the hit Japanese TV series Alice in Borderland.
I bought my Mamiya 6 in 2015 at Nisshin Camera near Akihabara. I also got two lenses, a 75mm and a 50mm. The shop owner threw in a free roll of Portra so that I could start shooting right away. And so, out of the shop I went to Hijiri-bashi, the bridge outside Ochanomizu Station that affords this famous view along the Kanda River.
Shot with Mamiya 6 and 75mm f/3.5 lens on Kodak Portra 160 film.
A set of miscellaneous square-cropped iPhone shots from Itabashi ward, the area in northwestern Tokyo where I live. I really like it here. :itabashi:❤️
Greengrocer and other shops, Nakajuku Shopping Street
Working from home today, and stepped by Jōraku-in (常楽院), a local temple, during my lunchtime walk. A nice place to wind down for a few minutes, and re-charge for the afternoon meetings and tasks 😌
(1/2) #Tokyo is in a constant state of change, and many old buildings (and trees!) are sacrificed to make way for new mansions and more concrete. Here is a selection of eight buildings in #Itabashi Ward that disappeared since I came here five years ago.
Yamasa Bookstore, Itabashi Honcho
Happo Saikan Chinese Restaurant, Shimo-Akatsuka
Kenzō Taiyaki Shop, Nakajuku
Take-no-yu Public Bath, Itabashi Honcho

Does anyone have a picture of Japan’s first digital computer, the FUJiC? It is on exposition at the National Science Museum in Tokyo. Looking for a good picture with a straightforward CC license.
The research to design the computer started in 1949, and manufacturing started in 1952. Photographic lenses were designed based on the computations staring in 1956.
