That's a good sign though: FINALLY the mainstream news outlets are giving climate change the attention it needs.

Now to connect that to what Biden is proposing, and what Trump is proposing. I haven't seen too much of that in the news yet, so it's DIY climate communication in this election year.

Wilders and his allies may now slash subsidies on electric cars and solar panels, increase North Sea gas extraction, raise motorway speed limits, give farmers cheaper diesel and halt the closure of large livestock farms. The new government will be perhaps the most environmentally unfriendly in Europe – a bold move for a country in which millions of people live below sea level."

For now, things like wind turbines are produced with fossil fuels., that's true. Once made, they go on producing 30 times more clean energy than the fossil fuels the energy required to make them. So that's a clear win, already. And eventually the manufacturing will also switch to renewable energy.

As for the blood part, I make no statement about that.

In fact, we are already observing this. Compared with the floods in 1941, this time the excessive rainfall was concentrated in a much shorter period, meaning the water rose much faster. These are on the whole interesting times for actuaries and other risk assessors, who have had the rug pulled from under them by the fast-changing circumstances.
