My Mum used to say "want a cuppa?"
Me: "ohh yeah. Lovely. Yes please."
Mum makes a cup of tea.
I watch a nano drop of milk drop into the tea.
Mum: "Is that enough milk for you?"
Me: "There's milk in this?"
Proceed to top up tea with milk.
Mum"Hey, hey, hey hey go steady with that milk. "
I've recently started enjoying a cuppa with precisely the Mum measurement of milk.
We all become our parents in the end. #tea#parents#life#memories
Hey #Sociology and #religious scholars people, can anyone tell me why it is that religious groups are often so good at organizing themselves to share #childcare responsibilities but secular groups seem super bad at it?
"Over the summer, state #libraries in #Montana, #Missouri and #Texas announced that they were severing ties with the ALA, imperiling their libraries’ access to funding and training...
#Christian#homeschooling is the definition of the blind leading the blind. What makes functionally #ignorant, Christian #parents believe they are qualified and capable of providing a comprehensive #K12#education to their #children? These are people who believe the #Earth is 6000 years old; that #dinosaurs lived alongside Man; that #evolution is a lie; that women are inferior to men. These are objectively stupid people who aren't qualified to educate anyone.
“'Children in the US can be legally married in 41 states, physically punished by school administrators in 47 states, sentenced to life without parole in 22 states, and work in hazardous agriculture conditions in all 50 states.' Over and over again, the worst states for children are clustered around the 'pro-life' Bible Belt, and the map of the states that are the worst for children looks a lot like a map of red-state America."

Thanks for bringing more attention to this issue…
Every time I see another gov or statehouse neglect to see #kids as…
Autonomous human beings…w/right’s & #freedom (s) we all demand for ourselves.
Kid’s rights…legal #emancipation was debated frequently in ‘80’s.
Today’s kids are only seen as an extension of their #parents & #community.
To do w/as they like…ownership…no #freewill.
Is that what we want for this country?
What kind of future do you see if this continues?

No one who is a friend of mine will ever suffer starvation or homelessness. We feed & house our friends when they're struggling. We've been doing that since I was a young teen.
My home was known as a safe house for several of my teen friends & again known as a safe house in adult years when I was heavily immersed on high conflict (with industry/govt/police) on various frontlines.
Please read past news article, that shares how my #parents didn't try to stop me from talking to #houseless folks & how they supported me buying food for them with my own earned monies. My parents supported every single effort I tried to help #marginalized ppl. They've always supported every one of my efforts to help ppl, animals & environment ❤❤🙌❤❤ https://www.vicnews.com/entertainment/paying-it-forward-10182
Article is mainly about my fundraising concert. @lacouvee 's son was one of my event MCs. Heartfull community effort🙌
Tonight’s #genealogy toot is a tale of two #sisters, both born over 100 years ago. Florence, the elder, was #married six times to five different men and had one #child (with husband 1-2). Elsie, the younger, was married to one man for 65 years, had 3 daughters, and was frequently mentioned in the local #newspaper for her #community involvement & service. Though their #parents lived like a married couple, they didn’t actually wed until Florence was 14 and Elsie, 8. #geneadons#familyhistory
Point rentrée #TeamDaronnie#parents :
-on a oublié les boîtes de kleenex.
-on a oublié d'envoyer la petite aux WC avant de partir.
-on a oublié de donner une casquette et une gourde d'eau.
Hundreds of people gathered outside the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina on Saturday to speak out against a new provincial government policy that requires parental consent when children under 16 want to use different names or pronouns at school.
Parents: We need more #teachers and our #school yards are empty squares of concrete.
The #Brussels 🇧🇪 gov: Cool let's invest in a giant #database with all students' performances and their personal data and let's give the gov broad access to it but not #parents[1]. 🤷♂️
Question for #Parents - my daughter is 5 so obviously I've put #Linux on my old computer for her. So far she likes SuperTux, TuxCart, TuxRacer, the OLPC Sugar activities, the Untitled Goose Game (via Wine), ClassicCube (a lite Minecraft clone), and painting in Krita.
She is just learning to read, any recommendations? #Kids#AskFedi
La team #volcans ou #parents ou #Auvergne, si j'ai une activité payante possible avec un enfant de 5 ans dans la zone des Volcans d'Auvergne, vous me conseillez #Vulcania ou #Lemptegy ?
A study based on a very small, albeit "diverse" sample of parents in Florida... but nonetheless with some compelling findings:
Research by the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law and Clark University finds "40% of #Florida#parents surveyed said they would like to move out of Florida—20% very much so and 19% somewhat—because of the state’s #DontSayGay law."
One in ten said they were "very likely to move in the next two years."
