Does the #Philippines really need to allow foreign schools to open branches in the country or own existing institutions? A lot of foreigners are coming here for better education. They wouldn't if our #education is as bad as supporters of the move paints it to be.
The way I see it, the problem is the half-baked #K12 education. It was only the first step. The next step is overhauling the entire curriculum, but they never did that.
Other things that we can do ourselves: (1) increase the pay for teachers; (2) standardised classroom rules like how the Koreans and Japanese do (abolish the autonomy of private schools); & (3) overhaul the curriculum.
I want to add: drop the “Senior High School” terminology; it's the source of all the confusion. We should change it to: Kinder (1); Elementary (6); Middle School (3); & High School (3) = #K12.

It is that wonderful (not really) time of the #k12 school year when I spend basically 4 months doing standardized state testing.
As much as I would rather not have to proctor the tests, I feel very sorry for the students who have to waste valuable school time taking all these tests.
Great example of how helpful #ChatGPT is: it just walked me through the math behind #PublicKeyCryptography. I kind of, sort of understand the math better now.
It also came up with #emacs#lisp code to show each step of the math involved, for whichever two primes are input. It seems to work fine, without any tweaking or fixing.
