News is such a confused industry. In order for it to be successful, it needs the majority of people to find value in the news that it produces. Most people are not old, wealthy, straight, white, men, but most news stories are framed from that perspective, even when the framing is false and easily debunkable.

Most news rooms don't look anything close to the people that they need to buy their papers to have a sustainable business.

Failure is inevitable.

Hyundai has an Ionic 5 N edition EV coming out where in race mode, it requires "gearshifts" to go faster. If you don't change gears, the engine will "max out" at a fake RPM while making fake engine noises until you tap the upshift paddle and honestly, as weird as it sounds, it's exactly why people still drive manual transmission sports cars and I kind of love an EV can turn it on and off at a whim for fun.

"desktop size" air purifiers are such BS that cheap knock-offs don't even bother to put the charcoal filter in line with the fan.

Love to know how this product ended up ... like this. Why put the filter in at all?

Notice how there are steal bars & plates mostly just to make the device heavier & more legitimate seeming.

To whom it may concern at Apple: I never want to see this. If I did, I’d go to Settings for it. Holding my phone wrong doesn’t mean “change my personalized wallpaper and lockscreen”. I’m sorry that this feature was a big thing in whatever keynote it got introduced in, and you’ll never be able to admit it sucks, but I do wish you’d admit that it sucks and turn it off. Release most domestic animals in a forest and they will be gone within the year. Cows? Eaten. Chickens? Extra Eaten. But not pigs. Pigs revert — they survive and each generation is more close to some lost wild boar ideal form than the next. Why are pigs different? Are they less domesticated? Is it the omnivory? Is it their intelligence?

In a few decades people say they need power weapons to protect their families from the pigs. What the heck?
