@RickiTarr My favorite breakfast tends to be an interesting take on something Benedict-style.
Current thrill is the porchetta benedict at Esther's Kitchen in Las Vegas. WOW. Shocked I can't find a photo in my library of perennial favorite pastrami benedict at Nate n Al's in Beverly Hills. Also love the fish cakes at the Wolseley in London and the trout benedict at Lucile's in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Usual breakfast is less elaborate. Like, scrambled eggs with fresh pico de gallo and hot sauce.
@Holberg@RickiTarr You had me at “Pastrami Benedict.” I’m reminded of my beloved pastrami and egg brekky in whatever East Village deli I could find, which then makes me reminisce about the stellar crawfish étouffée omelettes in New Orleans…
@RickiTarr favorite: Chicken fried steak, with hash browns/home fries and small “curd” scrambled eggs with cheese with a side of white gravy.
Alt: biscuits and gravy.
Usually?
Slice of Sausage/bacon with over easy fried egg and frozen hash brown patty.
I'm just not into food before lunch. However, if we are taking breakfast for dinner I need thin sliced scrapple cooked completely crunchy, 2 over easy eggs, and rye toast.
@RickiTarr Favorite breakfast is a well-made breakfast burrito. My usual breakfast is shredded wheat cereal with blueberries, bananas, and strawberries.
@RickiTarr My favorite breakfast is a homemade breakfast sandwich: Egg over hard with garlic and basil, some kind of smoked meat and cheese with toasted bread or English muffin.
My typical breakfast is a bowl of corn flakes and a hot chocolate made with powdered meal replacement mix. Easy to eat and it's like a warm, sweet multivitamin. It's my go-to when I have to be up and moving before my appetite wakes up. (I have some sensory food issues that are usually at their peak when I first wake up)
@RickiTarr Fav breakfast is one that I can actually eat.
I am often unable to eat breakfast or won't know if I will be able to eat at all until well into the day.
I would love some bacon, eggs and hash brown potatoes, or a waffle with maple syrup.
Most days I have to keep it simple, with a small bowl of non wheat, gluten free cereal, a few berries and a bit of goat yogurt. And of course, coffee.. It's what keeps me alive.
@RickiTarr
I would love to start the day with a cooked breakfast that my paternal (adoptive) grandmother used to make, so eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato, mushroom and fried white bread. But that's just fantasy.
What I have (for brunch) is toasted wholemeal bread, buttered with 1 cream cheese and 1 jam, usually strawberry. And lots of :GoodTea:
Favorite: a freshly baked croissant. Some cheese. And a massive bowl of coffee. And I mean massive!!
Actually:
I do intermittent fasting so.. a) it’s usually lunch time (or close to it) before I have breakfast. And it’s usually greek yogurt with some nuts and maybe some apple slices.
@RickiTarr@lisamelton French toast with a side of sausage, bacon, and scrambled eggs. I usually have scrambled eggs, some berries (strawberries and blueberries), and half a banana.
