    @grivettcarnac yes it really is about food insecurity. The founders of the movement this May over on Reddit were very sensitive to the needs of people who find it difficult to boycott because of economic situation and lack of local competition that limits choice. They have published a whole range of options including buying only loss leaders, letter writing campaign, petitions and social sharing.     Dr Ghassan Abu-Sittah, a British-Palestinian medic, has claimed he was invited to give a conference in Berlin about his work as a surgeon in Gaza but was denied entry to the country.

    Another 🇨🇦 house we wanted to see, already sold. Then take the damn listing down. That's happened 2x in 2 days.

    Roofer supposed to fix leak at our Calif. home for sale this wkend. Supposed to pour🌧️ so he'd have to cancel, we;d have to put hold on house; coming today to see if he can do it. Sigh. Did I mention we discovered he's a major Trumpy? We noticed 2 stickers on his truck. I wanted to fire him but can't rt now

    @GottaLaff I’ve just noted it on signs here in Southern Ontario. I guess it’s pre-listing to generate interest. I’ve never asked an agent or searched online for it. I don’t know if it’s a regional thing though.

    @gemelliz @Lorian I think any Canadian resident in Alberta should demand to opt in to the federal plan and defy the province - in court. It would be part of the charter right to live and work anywhere in Canada and enjoy the same benefits as all Canadians.

    So here is a thing I am missing in spite of all my cookbooks: recipes to cook in a #tajine!

    I got one (metal, not earthenware, since I have an induction stove), but I don't have any vegetarian recipes to cook in it.

    Recipe recs? I'm pretty adventurous but here also missing the basics.

    @GottaLaff provinces can pass laws and invoke section 33 of the Canadian charter to override constitutional rights and freedoms. Anytime they want. Like a get out of jail free card. They use it quite often. Our constitution is broken.

    Humanity must escape Capitalism. Capitalism epitomizes a system rife with exploitation and inequality. Capitalism creates economic disparities, where a privileged few amass wealth and control resources at the expense of the marginalized many. Capitalism has an inherent tendency to commodify human labor, creating alienation and reducing individuals to mere cogs in the profit-driven machinery. In essence, Capitalism is antithetical to human progress and freedom.

    @WillA763 @tomclearwood @Radical_EgoCom I’d say #capitalism has been around much longer than a few hundred or even fifty thousand years. The first people who gathered, hunted or produced more than they could consume themselves and stored (hoarded) it to sell/trade it for more instead of sharing surplus were in effect capitalist. It might be difficult to overcome the habit, or replace the system, but we should strive to do the hard things.
