WOW this is incredible & terrifying.

Israel spent over a decade spying on ICC prosecutors to "retroactively investigate incidents of interest to ICC to prove Israel’s legal system is accountable."

Meanwhile Israel has banned all journalists from Gaza and has killed 100+ journalists. This is totally what you do when you're not guilty of war crimes.

How much longer will the USA, UN, & the world enable this injustice?

#Canada Federal Court has certified another #ClassAction #lawsuit against the #CanadianArmedForces filed by a man who says he faced #discrimination & #stigmatization because of his #MentalHealth.

Dan Thomas will represent plaintiffs who allege their mental-health conditions worsened during their #MilitaryService as a result of stigmatization.
Thomas’s statement of claim says he was physically #injured during his #army service & then diagnosed with #PTSD & #depression.

New, by me: Two university students have uncovered a security bug that lets millions do their laundry for free.

CSC ServiceWorks provides internet-connected laundry machines to thousands of residential homes and universities around the U.S., Canada and Europe.

The students found that any security checks are done by the app on the user’s device and automatically trusted by CSC’s servers,

But CSC still hasn't fixed the isue — or acknowledged their findings.

More: https://techcrunch.com/2024/05/17/csc-serviceworks-free-laundry-million-machines

MaybeMyMonkeys,

@zackwhittaker the losses must not warrant redesigning the system (yet)

Donald Trump says abortion is “really not that big of an issue.”

We’re not going to let the leader of the GOP get away with rewriting history on his support for abortion bans. Your donation allows our organizers around the country to talk to more voters about Republicans’ real records of restricting our reproductive freedom. Six months from today, will we wake up on the morning after the election to a world where Trump’s political career is finally over?

Or will we endure a repeat of 2016 with regrets that we didn’t do more to stop Trump?

We’re organizing across the country to win in November, restore reproductive freedom and repair our democracy. Please join us. https://act.indivisible.org/survey/majority_over_maga_signup?source=mastodon&medium=directpost

Discord has rolled out new terms of service on April 15 that remove a user's ability to sue the company by forcing everyone into a forced arbitration process.

These types of clauses are usually secretly inserted into ToS documents right before a company does something extremely shady.

Reason 14,456 Mastodon is better than Twitter: Yesterday after Iran launched its massive missle and drone strike on Israel, Twitter was awash with FUD about how Biden had started WWIII.

Air traffic closed over Washington DC, Netanyahu had left Israel in the only jet allowed to fly there, accompanied by spurious screenshots of air traffic radar. It’s still happening NOW.

    Short 🧵...

My TL is full of conservatives who don't understand how Affirmative Action worked.

    Three points

    1. The demographic that benefitted MOST from AA—more than Black, Latino, & Asians COMBINED—are white women.

    2. AA was NEVER about accepting unqualified people, it was always about ensuring underrepresented qualified people ALSO had a fair shot at acceptance. Universities systemically discriminated against non-white applicants. AA required them to also consider non-white applicants.
