Here is the first of a few pictures of the Great Spotted Woodpecker that landed about 10 meters from where I was sat. What a bird, has made my week. This year I set a goal of photographing all 3 of the UK's woodpecker species. I now have 2 with just the rare lesser spotted to find.
It’s my first post here and I wanted to share my favourite picture of all time that I’ve taken. It’s a pigeon contemplating existence somewhere in Germany. Took it on our last visit there a few years back.
Super excited to be on this new website and hope to learn all the ropes soon. Super open for any newbie tips and advice.
This indigo bunting (Passerina cyanea) is definitely a pretty bird. I haven't fed the birds today because I'm trying to see if the pigeons will give up and go away.
A mama roadrunner, Meep, used to live in our big metal dino's mouth, & she & her baby daddy, Dart, raised more than one bebe there. We used to put out fresh water & black soldier fly grubs for them every morning, & Meep came to trust us to the point that she'd bring her fledglings to the patio & feed them. Sadly, they've all moved on, but I was lucky enough to get a video of her feeding one of her little ones. Here's a clip! #birds#roadrunners#BirdsOfMastodon#SoCal#desert
Having gone to the office today (my employer's slowly transitioning away from letting folks work from wherever/whenever), I was late for the train back home, so I took a detour by the river and met this very friendly pair of mallards.
(These are barely-cropped phone shots! Didn't have my camera with me nor a tele lens in my phone – they got really close.)
