I don’t often dabble with black and white photos but I felt the spiderweb read more clearly in monochrome and it added to the drama of the Stellar’s Jay peering over the web on the hunt for a spidy snack.

Feeling very somber today. I was hired to do a photo shoot last week with an absolutely lovely family and their terminally ill dog. Took this picture while they were giving dogo some water. I believe they are fuchsias. The pictures tuned out great but I got the sad news of his passing yesterday. My heart filled condolences go out to the family.

Reminded me of my recently passed cat. Due to the same condition even. Tried to stay positive and remember the good times. Couldn’t help but shed some tears.

Took some time to chill yesterday and had a casual stroll through a local garden. A little too hot out but still enough of a breeze to be enjoyable. Found this lone flower sitting amongst some greenery. Not sure of the type of flower.

Found this little guy while going on a walk through the forest around a local lake. Seems so content snacking under the shade of an old dandelion.

I would love to be that small and explore a forest. Would probably get eaten by something in 5 minutes 😂

Took this #headshot of my close friend about 2 years ago now. This was a studio setup at my place. One light and big softbox was all that was needed. I’m really happy with how this tuned out with the pure black background and his face illuminated from the one side.

Took this picture at my grandmas house as well. She’s got a bunch of feeders set up near the veranda. So I pulled up a chair and waited super still till the #hummingbirds were comfortable eating around me.

It took a while but was a really chill experience seeing these little fellas eat. I believe that this one is a Rufus Hummingbird but not 100% sure. Do you know?

Took this picture of a local beehive around the #Vancouver commercial area a few years back. There is a little community garden right next to it with a public ‘take a book leave a book’ stand. Love that idea.

Really like how the colours of this one turned out. #bees are super important for the environment and I hope more communities can get behind supporting their local #bee population with planting pollinators and setting up hives.

I took this picture a few years back when I was travelling through Alberta for a visit to Drumheller and the Dinosaur Museum.

This is the inside of an Automart. Had a bunch of cool looking gears and car parts laying around but this was the best shot that I took there.

The clerk was looking up some info for a client that was off to the side of the image.

It was golden hour but I felt the picture worked much better in black & white. What do you think?

Oh gosh!!!

The response here to my first picture was absolutely unreal!! Thank you all for the nice words and the tips. I put some hashtags into my profile now like people have suggested! Let me know if there’s anything that stands out or that I should change!😁

Today I have a picture I took from the same trip to Germany. This was taken at the top of the Nebelhorn Mountain next to the village of Oberstdorf. The sky and the mountains made such a nice symmetrical shape I just had to capture it.
