I got up very early to photograph the sunrise from the local mountain top (Glander, 1883 m). It was a hard hike up in the dark to get there in time. Unfortunately it was very hazy and the sunrise was behind clouds, but the view was still worth it.
This is one of my absolute stunners. I have it also printed on my wall here. Everything was perfect that day. Truly one of the best things that could happen to me
I'm sorry, but I'll post it repeatedly here because I just love it sooo much
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. And I can just recommend printing it! ;-)
The area around Silver Star Mountain is incredible. I needed this trip so badly, both physically and mentally. I slept at the trailhead and got up bright and early to check out the Chinook Trail. I only learned about this trail a couple days ago. Apparently an effort to build a loop trail around Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR.

It was on this walk that I believe the most inspired photography at the day occurred. It was partly because of the incredibly gorgeous scene and secondarily it was because of the great light.
The first photo is the view from near my camp on Cloudy Pass. Today has been incredible but tough. Hiked 20 miles with 6400’ elevation gain. This is not like the PCT, it’s rough trails that go straight up for hours. But i’m so happy, I wanted an epic long weekend and Glacier Peak Wilderness is providing that in spades so far.
Hey friends! Okay, this one was tough! I really moved around A LOT yesterday to get this shot right. If you would have told me before, I wouldn't have believed that I would struggle so hard in finding THE spot for this shot.
But in the end, I'm quite happy with it now. I will return to this spot, that's sure. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed it taking (in <-16°C) and processing 😉
I apologise if my timeline for the next week is filled with landscapes and scenes from the mountains of the Picos de Europa. I have only just been able to get the images off camera (I know, I'm a bit old school that way!).
The mountains here completely blew me away! Anyway, here's a sample from the week to come. Dramatic peaks, cloud inversions, narrow gorges and beautiful alpine meadows.
As many of you know, I bailed from my trip early due to stomach issues. Still saw some beautiful scenery in the Three Sisters Wilderness on my very long day. I’m feeling much better so far this morning so it might have just been a 24-hour bug.🤞🏼Very happy to be home. Drinking lots of electrolytes and resting.
This is one of my favorite shots from a recent photo shoot. In the center at the end is the Starorobocinski Wierch, the highest peak in the Western Tatras in Poland.
