A look underneath seafloor hydrothermal vents on 🌎has revealed cave systems teeming w/ worms, snails & chemosynthetic bacteria living in 75F-degree water.
Methinks this may have significance for the origin of life on Earth & maybe Enceladus!
NASA has just confirmed that the Dragonfly octocopter will launch in July, 2028. When it arrives, it will spend at least two years flying over the organic-rich sands of Titan, Saturn's largest moon.
Gliese 12 b is an Earth-size planet orbiting in the temperate zone around a nearby, stable red dwarf star. It's a Rosetta Stone world that will tell us a lot about how many superficially earthlike planets actually have the right conditions for life.
To all the wonderful people that take the time to post about their day, to those that put up pictures and interesting things, boost and favourite things. Or those that reply to other people's posts in a pleasant and caring way. Thank you.
Please don't ever turn into that other place. You are all so kind on here. Stay that way. You are a bunch of awesome people and we all need to hear that.
I shouldn't be surprised by now. This is #Mastodon after all.
Just realised that I might need to do another #introduction as my old one got deleted and I was hoping to connect to more people here. So please ReToot or #Reblog
Hi. My name is Jean. I am looking forward to connect with people whose politics is on the left of Bernie Sanders. Lol. Im based in #Melbourne, Australia, the best city in the world 😜. (sorry, Vienna). Originally from a Pacific island country. Im highly opinionated on things related to working class liberation. Recently finished a PhD in cyber security which focused on analysing the cyber aspect of the Rohingya crisis in Burma. I work in infosec by day, but im a full time human rights activist. I do probono work on NGOs in Asia with regards to cyber security. Used to be a data scientist but haven't coded properly in a while because #life.
I play heaps of video games, mostly JRPGs and horror adventure. I am trying my best to like FPS survival horror but it makes me dizzy as fuck. I am learning how to play the guitar. Relearning how to love books again after my PhD ruined my book reading hobby and actually all my hobbies. I am huge fan of horror films and dad jokes. I like to think I am a good cook but I mostly am just good at following recipes. I am #vegan, so hopefully find more vegan here who can share me recipes. I post heaps of photos of my dog, Heidi. Yes, shes amazing.
Hope to connect with all of you unless youre terf, nazi, capitalist apologist and fascist supporter.
If you're a new/recent follower, hello! Welcome to my feed. I hope you like #independent#music (especially #ElectronicMusic!) recommendations, discussions about the #life of a #musician, music-related #shitposts and the occasional smattering of leftist (pro labor, pro justice, pro human rights, anti racist, anti police, anti fascist) politics.
I'm a good follow if you're looking for #NewMusic or if you're a musician making new music. If you're both, well...
It's the end of the work week for many of us, time to slow down, relax, take in the beauty that surrounds us. Spend quality time with your friends & family. Time is fleeting, so use it wisely. Enjoy your weekend.
Jupiter's moon Europa has an enormous salty ocean, probably heated from below by hydrothermal vents. Now it seem that Europa has an internal source of carbon, too -- making an even more exciting argument that life could exist there.
Thank you all for sharing my last post, and all the favs! It's amazing to me that so many even saw the kitties pics on here! How lovely. Definitely needed that cheering up as I'm not doing to well right now due to having lots to worry about.
So thank you! #cats#catsofmastodon#sunny#catio#home#life#photos
