    @SirTapTap your new account won't have any posts, but your followers and followings do come across yes.
    Your old account will continue to host your old posts. There's nothing stopping you from posting links to old posts, but they won't be part of your new profile for example. They won't load as part of your timeline when someone views your new account.

    @GottaLaff when RBG died I left a street-corner campaign event to look after people in my family who knew what was coming.

    The people campaigning there with me literally laughed at me when I said she'd be replaced by an insane person before the election and Roe would be gone soon after.

    I don't have any joy in being right and I don't know how to make this 'real' for the people surprised now.

    Thinking about how Mozilla is "pivoting to AI" but DeepSpeech, one of the very few "AI" products you could possibly find a positive use for (pure-local speech recognition), is not only a Mozilla product but so abandoned that you actually have to downgrade to Python 3.9 to run it

    @mcc had a Mozilla rep at linux.conf.au (rip) in 2019. Did a great workshop on their local home automation gateway. Very privacy first, showed off the speech recognition with local processing, I got to play with setting it up using WebThings and speech instructions.

    I remember her quote to the audience that "Mozilla will always be your friend". In an increasingly hyper capitalist web I do at least know Mozilla's core mission is to enable and empower users with technology choice and capabilities

    @mcc while I absolutely don't love every path they go down, or disinvestment in projects that have imo real lasting value, they do seem to be trying to see where new things emerge and act as an incubator for guiding that emergence in ways that are better for real people.

    I love my Mozilla email aliases and my Mozilla browser and Mozilla email client! I'm really happy with my Mozilla browser built in translation tools.

    I'd still use Mozilla tech before I tried Meta tech or Google tech, for sure

    @GottaLaff NFL - Her ability to tell the story, and the effect it would have had on the campaign, is important regardless of its veracity. She literally does not need to have been honest for this story becoming public to be a campaign impacting event, and for this scheme to therefore be a campaign contribution.

    Weird Internet trick: Quickly get a list of IPs used by GoogleBot by searching for "what is my IP" and reviewing the page previews for the pages GoogleBot fetched from whatismyip.com, which of course include its own IP
