Still trying to find the original (presumably French) source of this quote from French deputé and leader Henri Schmidt. As far as I can tell it dates from the early 1900s, possibly 1911.

The Republican party is literally suing to prevent legal votes from being counted.

Bartiromo: I see that the RNC is filing a lawsuit in a battleground state to stop counting ballots past election day.

Lara : Yeah. Well, that's exactly right. You cannot have ballots counted after elections are over.

🤦‍♂️That is exactly when you DO count the ballots. AFTER they have been cast.

@pluralistic While I'm enjoying Lost Cause for the story, biggest best take-away is mention of using a skillet to warm up left-over pizza.

Damn, game-changer. (Assuming one plays games with pizza. I just eat it.)

The cast-iron skillet I found by the side of the road and refurbed fits three slices.

A cast iron skillet on the edge of a sink. A wad of steel wool sits on it.

My wife & I call that "street swag".

I have found several workhorse pieces of cookware in the little compactor chute room of my high rise apartment. And when more great stuff left out curbside in brownstone Brooklyn.

Cast iron. Stainless steel. A food mill. A cutting board. A very large stoneware bowl.

This is correct, and the press keeps getting it wrong. The money Trump owes isn’t a “fine” or a “penalty.” It’s DISGORGEMENT of ILL-GOTTEN GAINS. https://mstdn.social/@tristansnell/112125265736146734

I'm enjoying watching so many replies from people who are sure they know all about Trump's $$, where it is, all kinds of analyses about what he has and what he doesn't.

Guess what. Nobody knows. We don't even have the deets of his tax returns, nor do we know of all his properties and accounts.

So let's just wait and see before hot taking this to death. It serves no purpose, unless it's just for fun, which is fine too.

What is Tucker talking about? No one in NYC is "scared to ride the subway"

The worst thing about the subway is the ADA wasn't funded so there aren't elevators at every station.

Do people not in NYC really think it's still the early 80s in NYC? WTF.
