Hey Fediverse! I just released #Multiplex, an app to watch torrents together. It provides an experience similar to Apple's SharePlay and Amazon's Prime Video Watch Party, except for any #torrent instead of a specific streaming service. Thanks to #WebRTC, it doesn't require a server to sync playback, and can use a gateway if a viewer can't use BitTorrent. It's written in #Go for #GNOME; check it out on GitHub (https://github.com/pojntfx/multiplex) or install it from Flathub: https://flathub.org/apps/com.pojtinger.felicitas.Multiplex ^^
I was laid off over a 2 minute video call this morning
If anyone is able to help me find a new job (I'm in Seattle), please reach out 🙏
I'm an experienced #DevOps and #SRE engineer, and an accomplished open-source developer (TS, #Go, #Rust etc.) with tens of thousands of users worldwide
If you're a happy user of https://github.com/LGUG2Z/komorebi I would really appreciate if you could sponsor, even if it's for $1/month, to help me through this uncertain period
Hello! I'm a senior software developer looking for a role where I can help users succeed. I have 17 years of experience running the gamut from #Perl to #Python to #Ruby to #Go. I love to make relational databases sit up and dance. I've been in the financial and fintech space recently, as well as devprod/infra.
I'm open to full time W-2 or short term consulting.
Email me: pete@petekeen.net or DM me here if you'd to chat about how I can help.
My wife and I are excited about our upcoming move to Germany this October, where she'll be pursuing her master's degree.
I'm currently exploring opportunities as a Go or Rust backend developer.
If you happen to know of any positions available, whether remote or in the Bielefeld area, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know.
Sharing my resume and discussing potential collaborations would be wonderful!
Hey folks, I'm about to be available for a new #freelance#remote project.
I'm a full-stack, mobile developer for more than 15 years. My focus is building apps on Apple Platforms and I have extensive experience creating components for Big Data tools and Digital Twins. I've previously worked with both small product studios, SMEs and larger organizations in various domains—healthcare, IoT, safety, mobility etc.
Come work with me! We have a primarily modern PHP 8.2 stack using Mezzio but as an org are diversifying into Go. We also have a fair bit of Python lying around. We run CI/CD and manage our AWS environment using Terraform (though our embedded OPs team member will typically manage that).
I'm looking for good (backend) developer, or software architecture podcasts for after work, German or English, in the style of the German "todo:cast" or the "INNOQ Podcast". Can anyone here recommend anything interesting? I always run out of episodes so fast 😀
Hi all. I'm also sigue@mastodon.social. I created this account because universeodon.com has a higher character limit than mastodon.social and sometimes you just need to Use Your Words!
I currently work at Google as a software engineer but I'm starting to think about retirement. (Shhh, don't tell my manager.)
I was looking for #vscode extensions to help write plain #HTML and #CSS and it's disappointing.
There is an extension that suggests class names it finds in your stylesheets when you are writing HTML. Cool. It works. But it's extremely superficial. It only considers individual class names, so it suggests classes that can't apply to that element.
Just because I'd like to write plain CSS doesn't mean I want to keep my entire stylesheet structure in memory. There is a reason why languages like Go and most others have fantastic language servers. It helps developers work faster and more confidently. When I write #Go sometimes I'm just banging on "ctrl-space" because that's all that's left to do when you have a good lang server.
My friend @aspyrine just launched his new project, a self-hostable web app to save and keep web content as bookmarks (and he only posted about it in French 🫢).
The project is called Readeck. All texts and images are being fetched and stored when you save a bookmark, so you can read it now or in 20 years. And you can export it as ePub. And you can group bookmarks into collections, that you can export as ePubs or subscribe to as OPDS.
