At #Continuum16, #c16Reboot the Australian science fiction writers con, and the main, constant lament seems to be that it's so difficult to get any traction as a new author, either through small press or self publishing. There are so many books!
@elysegrasso It's mostly a marketing thing. They want to sell books more easily. Parents should pay more attention to their children and buy for them individually, rather than because the market says so.
Not me wasting the last hour online looking at art supplies. 🖌️🎨
I almost convinced myself I need a giant set of Copic markers (Fun Fact: I do NOT). #art
I've only been in Melbourne half a day and already I'm writing another story. This is probably a short or novella. Getting out of my normal routine, and away from the happy blandness that is Northern Tasmania, has really sparked something.
Do you find writing away from your home easier or more difficult?

Have you ever attended a writer's fair / festival to promote your work? Would you?
I'm just about to. I'll be at Continuum in Melbourne, Australia, this weekend. Mostly just to see what's what, but also walking around with a sign and a few books. I do want to give away some review copies, if I can find a good fit.
@imalcolm Glad it arrived okay! That's the last of the kickstarter backers as well, so the book will be available to the rest of the public soon. Let me know what you think.
No, no. Of course I didn't change the churches stance on contraception. I'm just joining in with the Climate Debate to gain popularity. We still want our worshippers actively oppressing women, spreading deadly, sexually-transmitted diseases, and adding to population growth which is a major cause of climate change.
Do you enjoy whack a mole type minigames in video games? I do, though I don't really know why, they're so stupidly simple. But I love getting a perfect run
Law No. 2 of home maintenance/repairs: the tool you need for the job right now isn't in your toolbox. You lent it to Dave four years ago and he hasn't given it back.
