My intent is to share (occasionally) news & views on developments in the world, the solar system, & the Universe ... focusing on the big #science-related issues of the day, and how our world has gotten to this point & where it might be headed.
If that sounds like fun, subscribe here and join the already 6100+ who took the leap!
A spectacular morning filled with completely mesmerizing colors as the clouds moved across the sky. This scene is from one of my favorite local places. Lake Lamar Bruce, Saltillo MS
When I was a kid, I used to take a lot of rambling walks through the country, and while as an adult I tend to plan my hikes, I still enjoy a good ramble. You never know what you'll see when you crest that little hill.
The Pulpit Rock at Cheaha State Park provides one of the best views in Alabama. Cheaha is a Creek Indian word meaning high place, which is fitting being that Cheaha Mountain is highest point in AL.
Nature gives us time, from one season to the next, to get used to the transition. She has so much to show, and we have so much to learn from her, that there's no need to rush.
The diversity of wildlife, from the vibrant plumage of birds to the graceful movements of a leopard stalking its prey, to the unusual & sometimes comical. Wildlife for me evokes a sense of wonder & a connection to the world we inhabit. Happy Friday, go explore.

What happened 51 million years ago to rotate these layers to such an extreme position? https://bit.ly/3J30gJO
It's a rugged place, this high valley in the wilderness of Oregon. May the artwork take you to such a place -- one of wild beauty, intense silence, and timeless majesty.
May the artwork take you to a place of great beauty and majesty, one in which you feel watched over by a benevolent force of goodness, truth, and peace.
