The Guardia Civil requested any identifying information related to accounts on the two companies’ respective platforms. Wire responded providing the email address used to register the Wire account, which was a Protonmail address. Proton responded providing the recovery email for that Protonmail account, which was an iCloud email address, according to the documents.
In the request, which listed “organised crime” and “terrorism” as the nature of the investigation, Spanish police wrote that it wanted to “find out who were the perpetrators of the facts taking place in the street riots in Catalonia in 2019.”"
This is your regular reminder that most communications on Telegram are not end-to-end encrypted. Channels and groups are never end-to-end encrypted and 1-on-1 messages are only end-to-end when explicitly enabled.
@evacide I’m a big fan of #Wire for that purpose. I know one of the cofounders and he’s legitimately invested in security. I don’t know why it isn’t raised more often in these conversations.

Bei ca.. Minute 36: zumindest das #BSI engagiert sich dafür, dass die gängigen #Messenger wie #Signal, #Threema und Co. untereinander verschlüsselt Nachrichten austauschen sollen.
Wer glaubt, dass - falls sie sich auf einen Standard einigen - diese dann der sicherste von allen sein wird?

En 2020 #wire sort 2 albums qui sont tous les 2 très bons, Mind hive avant le confinement, et 10:20 en juin, clôturant une période très créative de 5 albums en 5 ans. Depuis, le groupe semble en pause après une tournée mondiale, mais il ne serait pas surprenant qu’on en entende à nouveau parler d’ici peu.

Apres quelques annees de flottement et d’intermittence, #wire se reforme a temps plein au début du 21eme siècle et sort une série qu’on espère infinie de très très bons albums. Pourvu que ça dure 🤘🏻

1979, nouvelle évolution de #wire vers des sons encore plus gothiques. L’album 154 a crée une ambiance oppressante et froide qui sera imitée par de nombreux groupes dans l’indie rock des 1980s et au-delà. L’influence de Wire est très vaste.

1978, #wire fait évoluer son style vers un son plus froid et des mélodies et des harmonies plus travaillées, avec même des claviers qui apparaissent. Le #postpunk est là.
Leur 2eme album Chairs missing est magnifique, à écouter si vous ne connaissez pas, à réécouter sinon.

On a déjà parlé de #Wire quand on a fait la semaine #postpunk. Allons-y voir de plus près parce qu’il y a de quoi faire.
Ça commence en 1977 en pleine vague punk. Premier album Pink flag, très dans le style du moment, mais déjà plus propre et mélodieux que les Pistols ou les Ramones. Ça sent les mecs qui savent ou ils vont.
