I've been mostly very happy with #tuta@Tutanota mail since switching to it a few months ago but it seems to have developed the habit of deleting all my saved contacts every few days
I have contacts synchronization enabled
I use the iOS client (on 2 devices) and the web client (on 2 other devices)
Now switching my web client usage over to the windows client to see if it encourages it to stop deleting my contacts...!
Disappointed to find "require authentication every time" isn't an option on the #Tuta email app for #Android
I know I'd lose new email push notifications, but this is my phone so notifications are off for reasons already. I was hoping that if someone finds my phone and gets into it they'd need my email password and non-phone-based 2fa to get into my emails.
@Tutanota happy birthday #tuta and I wish more years to come always encouraging and defending #privacy as it's best. It's been an amazing year for me in the process of #degoogling and switching to tuta was the very first smart step. Cheers !!
Existing #Skiff users can't switch to #Tuta because forwarding isn't possible: if you add a rule for forwarding from Skiff to Tuta you never get the verification eMail(s).

La cosa che mi ha dato molto sui nervi è che il loro server Discord, dove c'era una community attiva, contenta e promotrice è stato chiusi di colpo senza nessun tipo di comunicazione.

É una notizia terribile, avevo puntato tutto su #skiff e migrato tutte le mie cose.
Mi toccherà ricominciare daccapo, e soprattutto, dare soldi a #Tuta . #Tuta é un ottimo servizio, ma nella versione free il search è farlocco. Questa limitazione per me è inaccettabile, ma allo stesso tempo, non voglio sganciargli 36€ l'anno.

This means that all skiff users need to find a new platform.
Notion does not even offer an email service, so we just lost a big player in the privacy community, very sad that they made this decision. I have considered switching to something like #tuta or #proton.

I am considering services like #tuta or #proton but i'll wait a few days or weeks and see what others come up with and test out a few services.
I will post which service i went with afterwards.

heres a simple color flip of default dark theme on #tuta#tutanota which i discover by accident. i like the crimson shade of red and darker gray elements.

The Swiss government is also apparently conducting mass surveillance of its citizens, but @protonmail and @Tutanota , which uses end-to-end encryption and is open source and transparent, should have no problem.
Final, privacy is not determined by the country where they are based, but by encryption and transparency.
Ich werde oft gefragt, warum ich E-Mail-Anbieter wie Proton Mail oder Tuta nicht empfehle. Weil der Zugang über IMAP nicht möglich ist, was ich für sehr wichtig halte. Ich möchte nicht auf den Browser oder Apps des Providers angewiesen sein. Ich weiß, dass Proton eine »Proton Mail Bridge« anbietet. Das funktioniert aber nicht bei jedem Client, vor allem nicht mobil. Daher: Keine Empfehlung von mir für die Anbieter.

Tbh, I paid #Tuta for premium account for few years, but last few months they got so ridiculously bad (esp. support) that I went through the pain of migration (not being able to use clients like Thunderbird made the migration a big big pain in the ... neck. With the new provider I have had very clean and transparent communication, they have marvelous documentation, and are very responsive (I hope they stay that way).
