is the opposite of "nonchalant" having an excess of chalants?

Just so many chalants? Too many, really.

This is my regular reminder to any scale-model kit company: make a kit of the trucks from William Friedkin's "Sorceror" (1977) (now on Criterion Channel) and I will totally buy, like, at least two of each. Maybe more.

JamesLonghurst,
@JamesLonghurst@historians.social avatar

@rysiek

24 minutes it takes Friedkin to get to the jungle; an entire 24 minutes of backstory for the four protagonists before the setup even begins. and then it's like another 35 minutes of setup.They don't start driving until an hour in to the movie!

running theme in the PBS Frontline doc "The Discord Leaks" is that online high schools in 2020 for COVID sent a whole cohort of young people onto Discord to look for community, and they get pulled into absolutely vile, racist, violent communities.

I liked watching ‘Constellation’ but the payoff I was hoping for just wasn’t there. I get making shows that leave audiences hoping for a second season but this left me wanting more just to get a payoff for my effort, which isn’t good.

The base model M1 MacBook Air I ordered arrived today. It’s my writing device away from my desk. As light and small as possible is what I wanted. I tried using an iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard but iPadOS and I don’t see eye to eye for productivity use.

Regents who vote against the wishes of the legislative majority will be fired, but also our problem on campus is that you can’t speak freely.

There's not enough bike riding in sci-fi. If people live in extensive tunnel systems bored into the rock of a dwarf planet, some of them should be riding bikes to get from one place to another. Much less resource intensive than electric carts and scooters

The judge in the Delaware decision against citing Star Trek and giving a dead serious citation for it is simply gold.

also citing to the original usage, not to later usage in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" (1979)" or TNG's re-worded version. This is an appropriate deference to the guiding tenet of stare decisis; clearly, the usage in the first Shatner pilot is the controlling precedent.

    “Course Media” is not the place to put the media for your course. Neither is “Media Gallery” or “My Media” in the left navbar. Instead of clicking on “My Media,” which does not contain your media, click on “Account” and THEN click on that “My Media,” which does contain your media, unlike the other “My Media,” which does not.
