The BBC's experiment with Mastodon is pathbreaking in English-language news -- a major organization setting up its own instance. They've really thought this through. Key language:
"We're using social.bbc as the domain, so you can be sure these accounts are genuinely from the BBC. And by linking to and from the BBC’s website, we have verified our identity on Mastodon."
And the immediate reaction has been for some people to #troll anyone unwise enough to give the #bbc even a qualified welcome. Welcome to the #fediverse indeed!. Where everyone can be a little #musk and a pint size #desantis !

According to Norwegian folklore, forest trolls are smaller than mountain trolls and generally more agreeable. Some of them practice eye sharing, which means that a group of trolls only have one eye that they share between them and pass around as needed.
Folklore says that if you ever meet a troll that is in a bad mood and tries to attack you, you can try to guess its name and say it out loud. Trolls can't stand the sound of their own name, so if you guess correctly the troll will either drop dead or escape.
According to Scandinavian folklore, trolls dwell inside mountains and rocks in their own realms. The portals to the realm of the trolls are usually very well hidden, and trolls are known to guard their doors strictly.

According to Norwegian folklore, trolls don't like the smell of Christians. They can smell Christians from far away, and the odour makes them furious. Trolls are known to have serious anger management issues, so Christians would be well advised to stay far away from them.
