Hey, I am a software developer and data scientist with experience in both fields. I mostly have experience in #python and #kotlin and some experience in #rust . I am really struggling to get hired anywhere because of my lack of diploma from my higher education, even though I (provably) have the skills to work anyway.
If anyone has any pointers or places I can go to I'd love to hear it. I'd love to work in either a data science job or open source software development, either locally in the central or west Netherlands or remote. Please help me get #FediHired spread this around if you want to. If you want more info and have a job opening I can DM my CV.
I’m on the market for a staff/principal role. I have a passion for #SoftwareArchitecture, Developer Experience, community, mentoring, #performance, and interacting with business and domain experts.
I wrote about why Future and the async/await programming model is error-prone and obsolete, the industry moving away from it (e.g., Go, Kotlin's Coroutines, Project Loom):
#Gradle supports different options to write plugins. This is good, because it gives you the choice to use what fits your context. Any you should always write plugins - if only to organize your project's build configuration.
Hey all you #Kotlin (and #JVM) experts. Is there a a makro I can use to raise a compile-time warning which is then shown in #AndroidStudio / #IntelliJIDEA ?
Anyone need a

Audile is a music recognition application that can help you quickly and accurately identify a music track playing nearby you. This application uses the AudD® service as a Music Recognition API.
It's also enabled by default in #Firefox (120.0b4). #Safari seems to be the only one out of the picture, as usual, but for many apps (intranet, kiosks) it's safe to assume mainstream browser support.
I regularly use and love #Typescript. I used to use #Python the most – it’s what I learned in and I am more interested in backends than frontends. I also am regularly using and really enjoying #Kotlin (so much better than #Java). But truly Typescript is bae.
#Julia is a joy to work with. Very much like Python but more powerful. If it had the library support Python or #JVM has I would probably prefer to use Julia for backends.
But Typescript really changed the game and now that’s probably my favorite language not just because of the language itself but because it has web dominance. Until I can write #WASM with Python or Kotlin or Rust, and I’m building #web applications, TS is my lingua franca.
I kept my twtr account for a while because brands I occasionally reach out to were still exclusively there. It’s now no longer the case so I put the account down for real :)
