I also played "Eclipse: Second Dawn for the Galaxy" on Saturday for the first time. It was...a lot. By the end I was letting the other two players go through their turns as I couldn't catch up on resources or points. My problem was not drawing tiles that would actually give me resources instead of more enemy ships.
