Anarcho-Communist envisions a society rooted in the rejection of capitalist structures and values. We reject individualism. We reject private ownership. We reject hierarchal structures. We reject competition. We reject profit-making. Instead we promote the good things: community-centered living, communal ownership, horizontal non-coercive organization, mutual aid, and focusing on meeting the needs of all individuals! #communism #mutualaid #horizontalorganization #anticapitalism #solidarity

I always find there’s an interesting parallel to be made between #christianism and #communism .

Does the fact that the inquisition and fascist contemporary evangelical churches exist make the teachings of sharing, non-violence, love and forgiveness wrong ?

Same for existence of gulags or state repression in USSR vs the possibility of a classless society not designed on exploitation and profits.

The #stupid! It burns! Another #FoxNews host humiliates herself on her own show. First of all, #communism and #fascism are diametrically opposed systems of #government; You can't be both a #communist and a #fascist. And second, fascism is an inherently #rightwing #ideology; the left cannot be fascists. Either this girl never went to high school, or this is a shameless attempt to mislead her viewers.

Look, at this point, I’m as critical about our current capitalist system as much as anyone else. At the most, I’m willing to consider myself a social democrat. Maybe even a socialist. But I can never be a #communist un-ironically.

I can’t, for the life of me, understand how anyone can look at communist countries from the Soviet Union to China and North Korea and think to themselves, “yeah, that’s a system we need to emulate.”

Alternative history. If the US had just given up at this point of war, all of (united) Korea would probably be in the same stage as Vietnam today. That is: just fine.

But they went on for 3 years. Killing 2-3 million Koreans to save them from communism.

Then they killed 1-3 million Vietnamese to try to save them from #communism and lost.

Is there any merit to framing conflicts of the recent past in ideological terms?

For example, the events leading up to WWII could be described as #fascism vs #communism, until you learn about the economic and military pacts Bolsheviks made with Hitler and Mussolini.

Sure, Brownshirts were fighting communists on the streets of Berlin, but once each side captured their own state, differences were set aside for the greater project of making their respective nations stronger.

The ethical problem of or isn't the "system", it's the corrupt people, the cheats, liars, the greenwashers, who are not interested in the common good.

The question is, which system will regulate the cheats? An economic system in which private industry owners control social media & politicians? or a democratic work environment?

The Nazis frequently used dehumanizing language and derogatory terms to refer to #communism and #communists. They portrayed communism as an evil force to be eradicated, and this dehumanization of communists played a significant role in the Nazi regime's persecution of political opponents, including communists, during their rule in Germany. This person is propagating Nazi rhetoric.

Americanos are pissed that they can't have bananas year round if / / happens. Banana availability has its roots in imperialism, destructive monocropping, and grueling agricultural labor/slavery.

We literally have a word for client states of for the export of bananas: banana republic. Banana imports to the West is drenched in the blood of thousands massacred for your God damn commodities. In the , companies told this instruction to banana worker syndicalists: “turn them into fertilizers for the bananas.”

On top of that is the steep ecological and carbon costs to actually shipping the damn things. Do you really need bananas year round?

There's also the problem of monocropping which destroys the biodiversity of forests to make way for plantations, even if we discount the slave labor. Monocropping has made Cavendish plantations at high risk of diseases. It could very well be that Cavendishes would become an endangered species just like the Gros Michel after nature erases its scourge. Maybe the extinction of the Cavendish is already a matter of time, rendering banana disocorse moot.

Americanos just don't understand that in a liberated world, maybe people won't be breaking their backs for some Americano to get their god damn banana. Of course degrowth/communism/anarchism means that relations to luxuries will change.

Besides, Cavendishes suck. They literally taste terrible. Y'all seriously live like this? Lakatan, Señorita, and Sabah tastes way better. Yeah, they can't be exported, boohoo. Not everything has to be a commodity, much less to please some Americano half a world away.

Today in Labor History October 8, 1965: The Indonesian military, led by future dictator Suharto, began torturing and massacring thousands of "suspected" Communists, leading ultimately to the overthrow of leftist President Sukarno. Other targets of the murders were members of the Gerwani women’s movement, trade unionists, ethnic Javanese Abangan, ethnic Chinese, atheists, teachers, students, and alleged leftists in general. The U.S. embassy provided the death squads with the names of suspected “communists.” Intelligence agencies from the U.S., U.K., and Australia provided anti-communist propaganda, as well as military and logistical aid. Overall, the genocide (1965-1966) led to 500,000 to 1.2 million civilian deaths and 1.5 million imprisoned. A top-secret CIA report from 1968 called the massacres "one of the worst mass murders of the 20th century, along with the Soviet purges of the 1930s, the Nazi mass murders, and the Maoist bloodbath of the early 1950s." Nevertheless, Western media either downplayed the events, or celebrated them. Suharto remained in power until 1998, continuing to imprison, torture and slaughter workers and civilians. He also presided over the East Timor Genocide of up to 300,000 people in the 1970’s.

An argument I often hear against universal basic income or communism where all your needs are met unconditionally, is that people would just be lazy, not do anything, and the system would crumble.

But let me ask this. The richest people in the world. You know, the 1%. They've got so much money they could retire and live the rest of their lives and their children's and grandchildren's lives and still not run out of money. Yet, they still do work. I mean, we can argue that the value they add is nothing or even negative, but they do still work. So why would everyone else just be lazy?

The reality is that we wouldn't just be lazy. The reality is that we'd still do work, but because we are provided for, we'd be harder to exploit. And that's what the capitalist and ruling class is afraid of. That's where all the fearmongering comes from.

Today in Labor History February 21, 1848: Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels published the “Communist Manifesto,” in Brussels, just as the Revolutions of 1848 began to erupt across Europe. After the French overthrew their monarchy, revolutions broke out in Germany, Italy and Austria. When the Prussian democratic parliament collapsed, and the king imposed new counter-revolutionary measures, Marx moved to Paris, then London, where he and his family lived in poverty while he continued to publish. He wrote his most important work there, “Das Kapital.”

Work as hard as you can to achieve socialised housing – all housing, not just for 'the poor' – and a universal #BasicIncome (or better still, full #communism) so that EVERYONE'S kids can not just survive, but live gracefully.

Today in Labor History August 26, 1942: At Chortkiv, the Ukrainian police and German Schutzpolizei deport two thousand Jews to Bełżec extermination camp. Five hundred of the sick and children were murdered on the spot. This continued until the next day. Prior to this, Chortkiv had a large Jewish community. Overall, an estimated 900,000-1.6 million Ukrainian Jews were executed during the Holocaust, with the collaboration of the Ukrainian military. According to German historian Dieter Pohl, roughly 100,000 Ukrainians joined police forces that participated in Nazi atrocities. Many participated in mass shootings of Jews, as well. Ivan the Terrible was a Ukrainian who served as a guard at the Treblinka death camp. The Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), founded in 1929, is an ultra-right, racist and nationalist organization that, during the WWII era, boasted tens of thousands of members, and which also collaborated with Nazi atrocities, including the Lviv pogroms of 1941, in which up to 6,000 Jews were massacred. During the Cold War, and despite their fascistic and antisemitic tendencies, the CIA and other western intelligence agencies funded and supported the OUN because of their anti-communist ideology. The organization, which still exists today, helped to popularize the nationalistic slogan “Slava Ukraini!” in the 1930s, though the slogan first appeared during the Ukrainian War of Independence (1917-1921). The OUN was active in the 1914 Euromaidan protests, and they are one of numerous far right nationalist organizations participating in the current war against Russia.
