The Home Office will launch a surprise operation to detain asylum seekers across the UK tomorrow..
Officials will hold refugees who turn up for routine meetings at immigration offices & also pick people up nationwide.
They will be immediately transferred to previously prepared detention centres & held to be put on later flights to Rwanda.

Anyone who takes part in this disgusting operation is breaking international law.

"Police in Scotland have been put on alert because of the high risks of street protests and attempts by pro-refugee campaigners to stop detentions.

Local communities in Scotland have twice prevented deportations by staging mass protests on Kenmure Street in Glasgow, in May 2021, and in Nicolson Square, Edinburgh, in June 2022."

We need the spirit of Kenmure Street across the UK.

LOL: HP wants you to rent a printer from the company via its new subscription service.

My suggestion: Just follow The Verge's advice and buy a Brother laser printer. I'm very happy with mine — something I never expected to say about a printer.

When the #HomeOffice can find no 'compelling reason' to reunite migrant #workers who are single mothers, with their children, you know that we are just a few small steps away from being a society depending on a modern form of indentured labour (or even slavery)... the Home Office is showing (once again) there is no limit to its inhumanity, and we are plunging back in time towards feudalism...

Behind the 's measures to make 'legal' more difficult (prev. posted) likely lies the record net migration from non-EU countries in 2022 reported by the ONS this morning.

But, to put that in a little context, the is also reporting the migration to rich countries has also reached record levels... driven by exactly the same forces seeing the UK:

push - from areas of crisis;

pull - the demand for (skilled)

The home office has a finger in a dam!

Rightly, the #HomeOffice's cruel & vindictive shift in salary thresholds for visa-holders bringing families (partners) to join them is going to be challenged.

This shift in regulations has the effect of producing a retrospective constraint that goes completely against a key element of the #ruleoflaw; laws should not be retrospective (laws should constrain only future actions).

Moreover, in classic #Tory fashion, this is a change that hist the #North & the less wealthy!

What could possibly go wrong?

Next year, if you have leave remain in the UK the only way you will be able to prove to anyone that you 'enjoy' that status is by accessing you e-Visa account via your UK Visa & Immigration digital account with the Home Office.

Its a new IT 'solution'
Its the Home Office
Its directly impacting migrants

Of course its going to work seamlessly...

Police forces in the UK are secretly ramping up their use of facial recognition – at the same time that many are denying they are using it at all.

‘Earlier this year, 13 of the 43 #UK’s territorial #police forces denied having used RFR in 2022, despite #HomeOffice figures showing that they had carried out thousands of searches between them.’

Warum Firmen #Homeoffice inzwischen immer weniger mögen, obwohl es keine Produktivitätsverluste gibt:

  • Ungenutzte teure Immobilien.
  • Illusion, man könne anwesende Mitarbeitende besser kontrollieren.
  • Dogma, der Job müsse das Leben der Mitarbeitenden dominieren.

British farmers have been accused of modern slavery over allegations of widespread exploitation of seasonal workers — which the Home Office tried to stop being made public.
The alleged mistreatment of migrants on seasonal workers’ visas is so stark that the government could be in breach of its obligations over the prevention of modern slavery, it has been claimed.

"Initially, small boat arrivals were sleeping on gym mats in the Manston marquees, but the Home Office decided they were a fire risk and removed them, leaving people to sleep on the cold floor with just blankets to lie on. While people were supposed to be held in Manston for just 24 hours, many were unlawfully detained there for longer, the longest known case being 43 days"

I keep saying this. The cruelty is the point.

More avoidance of scrutiny. Braverman has told the independent chief inspector of borders and immigration that he will not be reappointed next year. The #HomeOffice seems to have bowed to pressure on its treatment of EU citizens....

I winder if this has anything to do with the rumours that #Spain had been exploring how it might change the treatment of UK citizens domiciled in Spain.... especially after the appalling treatment of Spanish nationals recently.

Whatever, the reasons for the change I think we can safe say it will have been grudging!

The , having so far failed to deal with what it calls the 'small boat problem' has decided, it will now seek to constrain 'legal' , because at least there it seems to have some traction.

Looks like fees will go up (quite a lot), the number of dependents can bring with them will be reduced. In other words, the HO wants to ensure that migrants have less reason to settle here & can just be exploited & then discarded.

Its just another bit of inhumanity!

#HomeOffice mal offensiver formuliert:
