The first time I ever saw a sunrise over the ocean. For my whole life, the beautiful skies over the ocean came at sunset as a west coaster. Now I know that sunrise can be every bit as beautiful. Atlantic coast of Florida.
What's interesting about Florida is that they are generally suspicious of electric cars, and yet they've got electric micromobility TOTALLY sorted. There are golf carts everywhere. There are apparently even new developments where they have double-width sidewalks with a separate track for golf carts.

It's a moody summer evening on the Florida Gulf coast as the sun makes its departure & beautiful clouds fill the sky overhead, turning the entire scene a beautiful blue. What a great evening for a casual stroll along the beach
Florida interprets it ban on DEI initiatives as " apply[ing] to all campus programs and activities in which the college or university “endorses or promotes a position” on “topics that polarize or divide society among political, ideological, moral, or religious beliefs, positions, or norms.”" https://newrepublic.com/article/176402/desantiss-war-woke-colleges-absurd-dangerous

This was such a beautiful evening on the Gulf with the churned up water and the setting sun peeking through a break in the clouds casting its sun rays across the sky. Doesn’t get much better than this.
The March on Washington did not happen, spontaneously. It grew out of decades of interconnected efforts by myriad civil rights stakeholders. Among these were the founding of the NAACP, the flowering of the movement known as the Harlem Renaissance, and the monumental court case, Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka,
For all y’all in #Florida who are wondering about the #covidvaccine here’s the deal: DeSantis and his surgeon general have no idea what they are talking about. The vaccines protect you from COVID causing hospitalization or death very well, and cause a roughly 40% drop in risk of long covid if you get infected at all. I joined mastodon this past November. Things have gone well! My feed is very busy. Filled with interesting things. A bit ago I released the first book of this new mastodon era. A 3rd edition of my Southern Gothic Flash Memoir omnibus. Would mastodon work for book promo? Of course! I've had sales and more importantly heaps of interaction. Mastodon folks have stopped by local events. There are other social media platforms. But if you want to share and discuss your work? This is the place to be. #writing#FlashMemoir#poetry#florida#books#bookstodon#author#mastodon
Joyce Vance reports today on how Judge Aileen Cannon continues to slow-walk legal proceedings in Trump's Mar-a-Lago criminal case, and to use judical tools to obscure and hide information. It appears she is seeking not only to slow the proceedings to a snail's pace, but also to circumvent federal orders to have witness-clients attend hearings in the case.
Cannon continues to be a disgrace to the Florida bar and the US judiciary.
