Squid Game: The Challenge is a reality game show based on the sensational South Korean drama series. But this gruesome, creatively misbegotten concept should never have made it past the first meeting.
This is exactly how i felt when I saw they made this. I was kinda shocked some of my friends were able to watch it without feeling the ick. Like, i get that really its no better than something like Survivor or other reality+game show format shows, but the fact that the entire point of the original show was to showcase the abject cruelty of late stage capitalism was insanely obvious, and I haven’t even watched the original.
I feel like way too many people just completely missed the entire point of the show. Which, imo, was as much a commentary on capitalism as it was a commentary on the kind of human behavior that leads to this shit.
