“About a decade ago, #Tesla rigged the dashboard readouts in its electric cars to provide “rosy” projections of how far owners can drive before needing to recharge, a source told Reuters. The automaker last year became so inundated with driving-range complaints that it created a special team to cancel owners’ service appointments.”
On our drive up to Canada, we spotted a #Tesla Cybertruck on the road. Whoa. It looked like what a 1950s sci-fi movie’s idea of a 1970s car would look like. What a laughable eyesore.
“‘Tesla years ago began exaggerating its vehicles' potential driving distance—by rigging their range-estimating software,’ the article published today said. ‘The company decided about a decade ago, for marketing purposes, to write algorithms for its range meter that would show drivers “rosy” projections for the distance it could travel on a full battery, according to a person familiar with an early design of the software for its in-dash readouts.’”
" [#Tesla ] is technofeudalism. Whereas capitalists seek profits (income from selling things), feudalists seek rents (income from owning the things other people use)." (C. Doctorow @pluralistic )
Incredible revelations on how this massively overrated company punishes its customers daring to ask questions about why their car never achieves the promised range on a full charge...
European far right parties (Vlaams Belang, AfD, Rassemblement National, Lega ... ) are nominating Elon Musk for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.
Gives you a sense of who wants to associate with this guy ...
Antelmo Ramirez was a dad, grandpa and husband. When he died of hyperthermia while building #Tesla’s Gigafactory, they didn't tell local officials. @gusbova brings us his last hours in this important new investigation into heat deaths on the job: https://www.texasobserver.org/tesla-texas-worker-death-heat/
Elon Musk is betting Tesla’s future on using self-driving fantasies to boost the share price instead of building a real car business. He just gutted the teams working on the Supercharger network (right as other companies are adopting it!) and new vehicles.
"On Friday, dockworkers, who've been refusing to unload Tesla vehicles at four major Swedish ports for several weeks, will extend their blockade to all ports in the country... If Tesla doesn't cave after three days of strikes, Sweden's postal workers have also announced that they will join the strikes and stop delivering letters, spare parts, and pallets to #tesla"
"The lawyers who voided Elon #Musk's $56 billion compensation as excessive on Friday sought a record a $6 billion legal fee, payable in the electric car maker's stock.
"We recognize that the requested fee is unprecedented in terms of absolute size," the three law firms said in a filing with the Court of Chancery in Delaware.
The fee works out to an hourly rate of $288,888, they said." #Tesla
"Hafenarbeiter, Elektriker, Reinigungskräfte und andere. Sie weigern sich, Tesla-Produkte zu bearbeiten, abzuladen oder zu liefern. Der Konzern erhält in Schweden nicht einmal mehr seine Post."
A very important #strike is going on in #Sweden. If #Tesla wins in a heavily unionized country (with a very right wing government), it sends waves across the planet.
"[Some Tesla] mechanics began their strike in October after their employer, a Tesla subsidiary in Sweden, announced that it would not recognize their union... The industrial action soon spread to dockworkers… and electricians who stopped maintenance work for the carmaker”
Following the blockade by Swedish dockworkers in support of the #Tesla mechanics' #strike in #Sweden, there had been speculation that the company would try to unload in Danish shipyards.
But IF Metall asked for support from #Denmark’s largest trade #union, which announced a sympathy #strike on Tuesday.
