My son's grade 6 teacher is leaning full tilt into the "embarrass you in front of the class for benign requests/mistakes" method of authoritarian #teaching.
I'm caught between wanting to call her out on it, vs, not wanting to make things worse for him since she seems like the retaliatory type. And there's only 1 month left in the school year.
I'm ever so slightly annoyed (= raging mad) that #Helsinki IT has managed to leave the personal details of every #school age kid, their parents, and every city employee on an unsecured network drive, allowed them to be stolen, and now is trying to wiggle out of the responsibility to inform every impacted person (= just about everyone) or offer anything but stupid generalities as protection for #identity#theft. #cybersecurity fail of the year. Perhaps several.
I don't have enough time to keep up with all my projects: #3dprinting, #coding, #ClassQuiz, #smarthome, #school, #gaming and #tabletennis. I'd really appreciate having a helping hand regarding @classquiz who can take on some small(ish) issues I've been aware of for months, but at the time, I am focused on other projects (also in the regard of coding): There's @homeassistant and #FediPrint.
In elementary (primary) school during second grade (year 2) I checked out the book “How to run a railroad” the entire school year. I kept renewing it. The following year in third grade (year 3) I was banned from the library. My mother quickly resolved the issue and was pissed at the school for trying to ban a student for wanting to read.

We could be facing a pivotal moment in #education as the landscape faces remarkable forces for/of change, across #technology ( not just but including #AI of course, with #HCI and #cybersecurity ) and cultural shifts, politics generally, social-emotional development in Society, and so much more ... Here is the thing. It's going to work out. But put on your seatbelt, it might get a little bumpy.
Four hours of sleep are not enough, I‘m already battling some leaden eye-lids… Whilst running, I felt quite good. Yesterday’s rain has left the air clean and fresh, an absolute delight. Nevertheless I am sitting in an exam room, helping my colleagues check out their listening comprehension audio file. Sound is rather good, I set up a quadrophonic sound system. That should do the job. #Running#applewatchultra2#school#FinalExams
