Isabelle Easton, director of campaigns and community relations for the students’ society, said the group is looking into having #MandatoryTraining for all students during orientation at #UVic, in partnership with university administration.
Peters said many of her #students haven’t left the county that they grew up in prior to this trip.
“We have a lot of kids that get the free and reduced lunch [program]. It’s a high poverty area,” she said, adding that some have never dined in at a restaurant prior to this weekend.
The only 24-hour library on Vancouver Island, the #VIU university library is steps away from the pro-Palestinian #protest encampment that was set up at the VIU quad early Tuesday morning.
The statement did not give a reason for the increased #restrictions.
