Is the best analogy for what Israel is doing “white South Africans during the apartheid regime going into the area where the black South Africans live and slaughtering them all”? At least, the government of South Africa seems to think that way.

It’s bewildering how anyone can call this total apocalyptic destruction self defense.

Where are Palestinians supposed to go? Ethnic cleansing is taking place in too.

For the record:

It’s unbelievable that the police officers did nothing to stop pro-Israel counter-protesters’ violence. They are like Israeli soldiers in #westbank who watch illegal settlers brutalize Palestinians.

The mother of one of the most violent counter-protesters was so proud of her son and posted his photos in action on her social media account.

@yogthos I would describe this video as Norman Finkelstein patiently explaining the scope of human tragedy in to those who still don't get it. Student protesters get it but many adults, who just read papers and watch cable TV news, still don't.

@AnOldGuy I'd like to acknowledge how she's changed her position. She's a political animal through and through, but of a different sort from Biden and Hillary. She has a much better sense of where different groups of Democratic constituents stand. Her take on the students is vastly better than that of Biden & Hillary. Hillary is an embarrassment. She thinks that student protesters are a basket of deplorables.

I wonder how many of these violent illegal settlers are American citizens. Have they moved there because they love violence? Is it their Wild West fantasy? They really contrast sharply with our antiwar student protesters. One side resorts to unspeakable violence with impunity and the other side protests peacefully & gets arrested. It’s a very disorienting world.

Fanatic settlers are attacking aid trucks and still Western leaders do nothing. Are ordinary Israelis ok with this? Aren’t some of these American citizens? The level of thuggery is astounding. These settlers have total impunity because their leaders are in the government. There’s a debate about who’s indigenous to Palestine. Some argue that Europeans Jews have genetic markers linking them to Moddle East. A lot of Southern Europeans have genetic markers linking them to Middle East. In fact, many who do not consider themselves Jewish—because Judaism has not been their family religion for generations—have Jewish genetic markers. There’s a significant amount of “Jewish” as well as “Arab” DNA in Spain and Italy.

Double standard: The US government seems to worry a lot about foreign interests influencing US voters’ opinions calling it election interference. But they seem to be generally OK with election meddling if US politicians are receiving political contributions from US lobby groups working on behalf of foreign governments. They are also OK with former-senior officials and politicians’ relatives taking money from foreign governments.

Anthony Blinken and Mitt Romney complained that social media like was making voters emotional & lose sight of the bigger issues. What are the bigger issues that justify this atrocity? The US media vilifies liberal universities as if they were the bastions of antisemitism. But these universities are the safest places for Jews only second to synagogues. The far-right has been successfully attacking universities in red states and is now using antisemitism (any criticism of Israeli policies and solidarity with Palestinians) to crack down on academic freedom in blue states. They care very little about real .

MSNBC and Hillary Clinton are joining the far-right smear campaign against liberal universities. She calls students ignorant and that they don’t know any history. Does history justify genocide? She must believe that “will to power” justifies violence.
