One year ago, we converted a small piece of boring grass in front of our institute into a wildflower meadow. Now it's blooming for the second time, attracting many insects, and improving the biodiversity and the micro climate around our institute.

I've been questioned many times why I don't want my image online. Well... This is one of the issues I could foresee decades ago. I knew technology. I'd seen it advance from discrete components through VLSI etc. Another issue, and even bigger issue is facial recognition.

I duplicated all my DVDs and CDs and am keeping both the physical media and using my digital copies from HDs. I even have an off site backup of them.

You can get super thin CD cases, and even archival sleeves. Both allow many more CDs and DVDs to be stored in the same space than when in the plastic cases they were sold in.

I love this image of my son photographing the Aurora Borealis from the airplane window as we fly home from Illinois. Ironically, I tried to see the Northern Lights in Iceland last year, spending two very cold nights in a freezing field without success. Plane viewing is definitely the way to go.

@geekmomprojects Back when I was younger I used to go up to Northern MN for Aurora watching. I got to the point where I could look at the instruments on the SOHO observatory, and beeline north an hour or so from Minneapolis when they were favorable. I got to see Aurora often. As in at least once a week. Some displays were weak and spotty, but others were strong. The Aurora forecasts came out of some of the data gathered.
