" Climate change is leading to longer and more intense allergy seasons. More exposure to pollen can trigger asthma and other allergic responses.
Due to climate change, there is also an increase in carbon dioxide in the air, causing trees to make more pollen. Since 1990, pollen seasons have 21% more pollen. Tree pollen levels saw bigger increases than grass or weed pollen."
I have pointed out in several posts that the #ClimateCrisis was responsible for my allergies here is the proof.
So again #climate change deniers will be blocked and reported and are very unwelcome in this community. Your opinion is irrelevant.
Looked at labels on catering dishes in office... Kind of funny when many ingredients are marked as allergens but #garlic isn't. So garlic #allergy is too rare I guess :blobcatsweat:
At least it is often listed. And when it isn't in most cases it is so small amount, much below the treshold to make me feel bad.
Researchers say they have found the 'smoking gun' for tackling life-long allergies
Ensuring the safety and efficacy of new drugs takes a long time, and so we’re looking a “a minimum of five years” to even understand how to apply this information into a drug and start the regulatory process.
People suffering from food allergies may soon find relief from a product already on the market. The injectable drug Xolair is meant to treat asthma and hives, but an analysis by the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases showed that people who took the drug before eating could consume more peanuts, eggs, or other foods without triggering their usual allergic reactions. Read more about the research from NBC News.
"In an analysis of three studies that included data on preexisting allergic rhinitis, the condition was significantly associated with an increased risk of long COVID (OR, 1.96; 95% CI, 1.61 to 2.39).... Only 3 of the 13 studies measured long COVID with physical examinations and comprehensive questionnaires, the authors cautioned."

As of today, everyone in my immediate family has had this season's flu vaccine and covid booster.
Note for fellow egg allergy folks: FluCelVax is made without eggs (is made in "mammalian cell cultures"). I did not react to it, and it's less ouchy several hours later than FluBlok (egg free, mRNA tech) was. I did have to ask for it specifically (just like FluBlok, which they didn't have) and specify that I'd had a bad reaction to egg derived flu shots before.
Does anyone else find that #hayfever-like #allergy attacks trigger big cravings for super sweet, chocolatey foods?
Are #allergies fattening? But, ah-achoo! Please send chocolate. Or cookies.

Let’s break the cycle! Goldenrod (Solidago spp.) does not cause hay fever and is unlikely to cause allergies. They are insect-pollinated and have heavy, sticky pollen that does not travel well in the air. Common Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) is one of the worst irritants for allergy sufferers since it's primarily wind-pollinated. Both goldenrods and ragweeds bloom at the same time, but their flowers are very different (goldenrods are yellow, and ragweed are green). #allergy#hayfever
I’m telling you something about anaphylactic shock, in case, like me, you have a severe allergic reaction and don’t recognise it.
It involves a massive, sudden blood pressure drop. You feel weak, sweaty, faint, maybe nauseous.
We think of anaphylactic shock as being about inability to breathe. That is not what I experienced, so didn’t recognise what was happening in time to get myself emergency care for the most dangerous part - the first 30 minutes or so.
