Today we're gonna talk about Arachis hypogaea or #peanut. Europeans borrowed the name from indigenous American languages, #Spanish from Nahuatl, and #Portuguese from Tupi. As cultivation spread to Africa, Dutch took the term "pinda," from Kongo "mpinda."
#today I'm looking for advice on when to harvest my (hopefully) peanut crop. These were planted out in early May (New England Zone 6b) I've had a few peanut plants in the past, but only "volunteers" planted by wildlife. I was planning to wait until frost hits the leaves, but would be interested in hearing from others with experience growing them outside the US south. Any advice? #gardening #Allotment #NewEngland #peanut
Nothing makes #Brexit more real to me than that I can no longer order the world's best #peanut butter (#ManiLife Deep Roast Smooth) to Germany from the #UK 😭
