They should be sanitising their database inputs rather than change the input data!

Friends. I’m seeking advice for my niece.

She’s being asked to take on new responsibilities at her job and wants to be properly compensated. They’re asking her to do Microsoft Access work. Her role isn’t technical and has nothing to do with it. (She’s also a Black woman who doesn’t want to get walked over because of it.)

Does anyone have any advice or info about what compensation looks like for that kind of work? Thanks in advance!

Question:
Let's say you have two copies of the same mysql database, one is the current production that just went out of commission and the other is the new production version + upgrades.
Now you need to conciliate all the users and data between the end of the production DB into the new DB with the software updates.
How would you proceed?

(Boost appreciated 👍)

Honestly, there was a time where MariaDB was relevant, and that was when PostgreSQL was weird, MS SQL was costly, and MySQL was on the verge of being proprietary.

Today, MS SQL has low entrance barriers, MySQL still works, and PostgreSQL is versatile and rock solid.

What does MariaDB offers that other don’t?

JSDB 5.0.0 published 🎉

• Custom classes must have a constructor that accepts a parameter object as its only argument. Constructors are run during deserialisation.

• Custom classes can now safely extend other classes (e.g., EventEmitter).

• Properties that begin with an underscore (_) are treated as private and ignored.

• Objects with null prototypes are supported. i.e., objects created with Object.create(null, …).
